Adopt-a-Pet: Dexter the Chihuahua mix

November 1, 2010 |  8:30 pm

Dexter Looking to bring a new dog into your family? Dexter, a little dog with a big, sunny personality, might be just the pet for you.

Breed: Chihuahua mix

Age: About 1 year

Weight: 7 pounds

About Dexter: As a large adoption event came to an end, this little guy was about to be loaded back into a van to return to a crowded municipal animal shelter. Fortunately, Forte Animal Rescue didn't let that happen.

"Dexter's right front leg never fully developed, so he has a little limp, but he doesn't know any difference and has the most positive attitude a dog can have; he's a 'glass half full' kind of boy," Forte founder Marie Ataki says. "His orthopedic veterinarian said Dexter is perfectly fine with his little handicap and he is a healthy, sweet little dog!" He's described as charming and affectionate.

For more information: Learn more about Dexter and other adoptable dogs and cats at Forte Animal Rescue's website, via e-mail at adoption@FARescue.org or by calling (310) 362-0321.
