Your morning adorable: Rothschild giraffe calf reaches for a snack at the Berlin Zoo

GiraffeCalf1

It's hard to top the cuteness of a gangly giraffe calf.

It's even harder to top the cuteness of a gangly giraffe calf who's stretching as far as his not-yet-fully-grown neck will take him toward a container that we can only assume contains something delicious.

You can almost hear him going, "Ehn!"

Egon, the little fellow above, was born last week at the Berlin Zoo, a well-known hot spot for adorable baby animals. (Think Knut.)

Egon is a Rothschild giraffe, one of the rarest of the giraffe subspecies. Rothschild giraffes (also known as Ugandan giraffes or Baringo giraffes) are considered endangered, with fewer than 2,500 thought to remain in the wild -- possibly far fewer.

Check out another photo of baby Egon after the jump!
