'Octomom' Nadya Suleman unveils spay and neuter sign for PETA on her front lawn

Octomom4 Nadya Suleman, the 34-year-old mother of 14 whose delivery of eight babies conceived through in vitro fertilization last year earned her the nickname "Octomom," has made good on her promise to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals by unveiling a sign promoting animal birth control in her front yard.

Facing financial difficulties that could have meant eviction from her La Habra home, Suleman agreed in March to place the sign advocating spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats in her yard. Around the same time, she declined an offer from an adult-film production company to appear in a porn movie.

"No porn. Just Peta. Nadya prefers animals over men," her lawyer Jeff Czech wrote by way of an explanation in an e-mail to the Associated Press.

The sign, which measures 3 feet by 4 feet, reads, "Don't let your dog or cat become an 'octomom.' Always spay or neuter. PETA." Alongside the text is an image of a cat nursing a litter of young kittens. In exchange for the advertising placement, Suleman will receive a $5,000 payment from PETA and a month's supply of vegan hot dogs and Boca burgers. Suleman has said that she typically spends $1,000 each month on groceries.

"I love animals and I do believe they should be spayed or neutered," Suleman said at the unveiling ceremony Wednesday morning, at which she appeared wearing an animal rights-themed T-shirt. "Humans of course are much different."

According to PETA, news of Suleman's willingness to display the "Don't let your dog or cat become an 'octomom' " sign has resulted in an outpouring of interest from animal lovers who want to display similar signs. In response, the group has offered to give replica signs to the first 100 people who sign up to receive one on its blog, The PETA Files.

Don't let your dog be artificially over inseminated by a 'doctor? That's her message? Stop paying attention to this woman, please!

How is this public-assistance addict relevant to, well, anything?

What a thoroughly repulsive person she is. I hope PETA enjoyed my last donation because, after this incredibly stupid stunt, it really is my LAST donation.

Wow... I'd make a joke, but this is just too easy.

The irony... it burns!

I love animals but I love money more. If I sign up will I be getting $5.000 and a month supply of veggie burgers and dogs too? LOL

Way to go Nadya, I support her and PETA 1000%

I think that PETA has done more damage to the AR community than any other single organization out there. This ignorant stunt just proves my point.

Yea I thought that we had heard the last of her!!! No such luck I guess and she should pratice what she is preaching. And she is getting PAID FOR THIS?? Pure bull if u ask me. Most all of us that has pets knows enough to Spay and Neuter our pets. I have this done to all the pets that I now own and have had.

Regardless how you feel about Suleman, asking a woman to degrade herself or feed her family is abhorrent. PETA already had a misogynistic history, and now I despise them even more (by the way they also have a history of putting DOWN most of the animals they "save", way to save lives.)
