We’re big fans of satirical ‘newsmagazine’ The Onion -- and we’re also big fans of kittens. We couldn’t help laughing, then, at The Onion’s recent faux-news story, ‘Cat Fancy Magazine Blasts Area Kitten.’ In case you haven’t seen it already, we had to share the hilarity!

Cat Fancy, of course, is a real-life magazine catering to cats and the people who love them. (We doubt very much, though, that it would ever truly print a scathing article about a cat of any kind -- much less an ‘area kitten.’ But therein lies the brilliance of The Onion!)

This latest Onion story isn’t the first time the fake news source has commented on the animal kingdom. Other recent headlines include ‘Study Reveals Dolphins Lack Capacity To Mock Celebrity Culture,’ ‘Advocacy Group Decries PETA’s Inhumane Treatment of Women’ and ‘Jockey Liam Hollins The Favorite To Brutally Whip Horse To Kentucky Derby Win.’ (While there is no Kentucky Derby jockey with that name, it’s true that animal-rights activists have long complained about what they say is inherent cruelty in horse racing.)
