When a group of African penguins went for a walk in their festive holiday wear at the Hakkeijima Sea Paradise aquarium in Yokohama, Japan, photographer Itsuo Inouye was there to capture it. We’re thankful for that, because we think these fellows in their red-and-green finery are pretty irresistible.

Fun fact: African penguins are known for the curious braying sound they make -- a sound that once earned them the name ‘jackass penguins.’ (They were later renamed African penguins because of the confusion that stemmed from the fact that some penguin species native to South America make a similar donkey-type sound.)
