Numerous friends of the blog won’t stop barraging us with e-mails about Cats for Gold. OK, we relent and will acknowledge one of the most brilliant memes in recent memory.

Cats for Gold is a parody of Cash4Gold, which you may have seen in infomercials or in endorsements by M.C. Hammer and Ed McMahon.

Cash4Gold is real and asks customers to send them their gold jewelery in exchange for money.

Cats for Gold is not real, no matter how much we wish it was. It jokingly asks you to mail in your gold and receive cats. The tagline is ‘Lose the treasure. Get the Cheshire.’ Genius.
