Your morning adorable: Meerkats explore a jack-o’-lantern at England’s Bristol Zoo Gardens

At England’s Bristol Zoo Gardens, even the meerkats are getting into the Halloween spirit (well, we have our doubts that they actually know they’re getting into the Halloween spirit) through a specially made jack-o’-lantern delivered to them by zoo staff.

According to the zoo, the jack-o’-lantern wasn’t just meant to be festive; it’s also a great dietary supplement because pumpkins are high in potassium, fiber and other important nutrients. (We don’t know about you, but we’d certainly prefer a pumpkin to the meerkats’ typical zoo diet, which consists of crickets, mealworms, dead chicks, mice, sprats, minced meat, chopped fruit, dog biscuits and a ‘specially balanced diet supplement.’) Plus, the little guys sure seem to enjoy exploring a jack-o’-lantern that’s bigger than they are!
