Squirrel, meet parrot. Only in L.A.

Submitter KrusH sends this photo of a never-before-seen (by us, anyway) interaction between a squirrel and a feral parrot.  We can't tell if they're friends, enemies or simply brand-new acquaintances -- but whichever description of their relationship is accurate, the photo fascinates us!

Times columnist Hector Tobar recently wrote a great piece about the history of L.A.'s non-native bird population -- check it out for more information on avian wildlife like this orange-headed fellow.

This parrot looks like a fischers Lovebird. My 9 year old femal black mask lovebird was caught in the wild as a juvenile in NW Pasadena....she's the best :-)
