Pacific Park’s iconic Ferris wheel, no stranger to elaborate light displays (it’s shown here festively done up for the holidays), and LAX’s brightly colored pylons will light up tonight in support of a very worthy cause.

While many landmarks across the country will turn orange this month as part of the ASPCA’s ‘Go Orange’ campaign, the Ferris wheel and famous glass towers will turn blue and white -- the colors of local animal charity spcaLA.

‘I am deeply touched and humbled by this honor and show of loyalty by Pacific Park and LAX,’ said Madeline Bernstein, spcaLA’s president. ‘Community support is critical to the survival of our abused and abandoned animals who depend on the funds staying here in Los Angeles.’

SpcaLA is an independent organization dedicated to animal welfare causes -- including pet adoption, education and animal cruelty investigations -- right here in southern California. (Check out their website for adoptable dogs, cats and rabbits.)
