Tinker Bell, an 8-month-old Chihuahua owned by Dorothy and Lavern Utley, was picked up and blown away by 70-mph winds this weekend at a flea market outside of Detroit.

According to a story in the Detroit News, the Utleys were setting up for the outdoor event in Waterford Township and had their 6-pound puppy tethered to the back of a trailer.

A 70-mph gust of wind blew through, picked up the little black-and-brown pup and sent her airborne.

‘She just went. The wind came up and within seconds she was gone,’ Dorothy Utley told the News.

There is a happy ending to this tale. Two days after the wee dog disappeared, she was located about three-quarters of a mile away in a wooded field.

The Utleys credit a pet psychic for guiding them to the location where they found their puppy.

Dirty and hungry but otherwise OK, Tinker Bell was thrilled to see her owners again. ‘That dog was so happy, she just went wild.’ Utley said. ‘We were shocked when we found her,’ added Utley. ‘You don’t know how happy we were. We love her so much.’

Sounds like a true over-the-rainbow story for Dorothy, and her little dog too.
