Frank, six months old and 13 pounds, will join the rest of the lowland gorilla family on exhibit Saturday at the San Diego Zoo.

With Frank, the zoo has 13 lowland gorillas. Mother is Azizi and father is Paul Donn. Frank may seem smallish now but he’s expected to top 400 pounds in his mid-teens.

The lowland gorillas are considered critically endangered in the wild in Africa. Frank got his first look at the Gorilla Tropics exhibit on the back of 14-year-old Ndjia.
