Anderson Cooper grills Obama on Daschle, the economy...and of course, the dog

President Obama talked dogs with CNN's Anderson Cooper President Obama, in a Tuesday interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, answered tough questions about Tom Daschle's withdrawal as health and human services secretary-designate and the state of the U.S. economy.  But what's a high-profile TV interview without a few softballs?

From CNN's interview transcript:

Cooper: Final questions, just a quick lightning round, just a couple of fun questions. What's the latest on the dog search?

Obama: We are going to get it in the spring. I think the theory was that the girls might be less inclined to do the walking when it was cold outside.

Cooper: Portuguese water dog? You don't know yet?

Obama: You know, we're still experimenting.

I can't believe people are saying get a "labradoodle."

It is NOT a real breed. Only pet stores and bad breeders sell them. But I am very happy that regardless OF the breed, Obama WILL rescue.

There are thousands and thousands of mixes in shelters. You've only to look. :)
