It’s that time of year again -- will you be shopping for gifts for your four-legged (in addition to two-legged) friends? If you’re in the market for kitty gifts (or gifts for the resident crazy cat lady in your family), don’t fret: Our colleagues at The Times’ shopping blog, To Live & Buy in L.A., have got you covered.

Our favorite of this odd assemblage of cat-themed items? Without a doubt, the Day 751 Cat Doormat. (We’re still a little confused about why exactly a cat would need a doormat, but if time has taught us one thing, it is that pet products don’t need to make sense.) It reads: ‘The Cat, Day 751. My captors continue to torment me with bizarre dangling objects. They eat lavish meals in my presence while I am forced to subsist on dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of eventual escape ... that, and the satisfaction I get from occasionally ruining some piece of furniture. I fear I may be going insane.’

Like we said, pet products don’t need to make sense.

Other highlights: catnip eyeballs (??), a Christmas-tree-shaped cat scratcher and a cat-sized Santa hat like the one Nessie models here.
