Chilindrina (ID# A3903705) was a stray roaming the streets of Compton when she was picked up by Animal Services and brought to the Downey animal shelter. She’s been there for more than a month and is in need of a home!

This female Chihuahua mix is described as very sweet by shelter workers. She must have had a tough life as a stray -- an old injury to one of her rear legs never properly healed, which causes her to have ‘a bit of a unique gait,’ says Patricia Learned of L.A. County Animal Care & Control.

‘She moves both back legs simultaneously, like a rabbit. This unique movement probably developed when she was trying to get around on her injured leg,’ Patricia explains. ‘But her new humans should not be fooled into thinking it slows her down at all. She is quite speedy!’

Chilindrina is about 2 years old and is already spayed and microchipped, so she’s ready to go home immediately with her new adoptive family. Meet her face to face at the Downey shelter (located at 11258 S. Garfield Ave.), or call (562) 940-6898 with her ID number for more information.
