Ally, a volunteer at the West L.A. shelter, filled us in on one of her favorite residents. Meet Bear (ID# A0974108), an American Staffordshire Terrier. ‘He’s my little man...I love that dog,’ she says. ‘He has such a wonderful gentle soul.’

Ally says Bear is an easygoing guy who is great with kids and other dogs and ‘has never shown even a hint of aggression.’ It’s a good thing he likes kids, because he was recently chosen to participate in the K9 Connection program (in which at-risk teenagers train adoptable shelter dogs in obedience) and is scheduled to start his training program soon.

Bear is about 6 years old and already neutered. Meet him and his many potential canine companions at the West L.A. shelter, located at 11361 West Pico Blvd. (near the intersection of Pico and Sawtelle). Or call (888) 452-7381 for more information.
