We met sweet little Gretta, ID# A0986121, recently at the West Valley shelter in Chatsworth. She’s an unspayed Dachshund mix and she is precious!

If you’re looking for a new friend, there’s no better day to find one than Saturday.

In honor of the third annual Spay Day L.A., the six city animal shelters will offer discounted adoption fees on all dogs, cats and rabbits (including the Dachshund mix shown here).

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can take home a dog for $43, a cat for $28, or a rabbit for $25 -- that’s a 60% discount and the price includes spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, vaccinations and a one-year license for dogs.

Get more information at the L.A. Animal Services website or by calling (888) 4LA-PET1.
