Surfing dogs: Cowabunga meets bow-wow

Surgdog99

The third annual Surf Dog Surf-a-Thon is set for Sunday at Dog Beach, between Del Mar and Solana Beach.  Registration is possible online at www.animalcenter.org or in person starting at 8:30 a.m.

The event is a fundraiser by the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe.

Prizes will go for longest wave, best trick and gnarliest wipeout as judged by champion surfer Guy Takayama, television's Bridget Marquardt ("The Girls Next Door"), and surfers from the Swami's Surfing Assn.
