California man gored in running of the bulls

A Bakersfield man ran with the bulls this week in Pamplona and got a 5-inch gash on his left buttock for his efforts, the Associated Press reports.

"I am not hurt that bad," Marcus Wolf, 22, told the AP as he recovered at Navarra Hospital. "I was running, and I got caught up with the people. I fell down and the bull climbed up over me. I felt the horn instantly."

Wolf,above, underwent surgery for his wound. This was the first time Wolf participated in the famed annual event in the Spanish city. It also will be his last, he said.

The running of the bulls has drawn protests this week from anti-bullfighting groups.
