Riverside County woman seriously injured in Rottweiler attack

June 20, 2008 | 10:10 am

Authorities say a woman is severely injured after a pair of Rottweilers attacked her in front of her home in Riverside County, the Press-Enterprise reports.

Animal services spokesman John Welsh told the paper that 14-month-old Rottweilers were euthanized with their owners' consent after the Thursday attack at 11 a.m. in the county's unincorporated Eastvale community.

The woman remained at Riverside Community Hospital. She broke her arm and needs surgery for deep puncture wounds and lacerations to her head and arms.

Authorities have not released the name of the woman or the owners of the dogs, who had moved to the neighborhood three weeks before the mauling. Investigators say the dogs likely escaped through a partly open garage door.
