Dog video continues to vex Marines
The Marine Corps continues to be dogged by the mysterious case of the video purporting to show a Marine in Iraq throwing a puppy off a cliff. The video caused a furor when it was posted on the Internet in early March.
The Marines involved were immediately identified as part of a unit based in Hawaii. An investigation was launched. This week, Marine Corps Base Hawaii issued a followup statement saying that the investigation continues. A spokesman said it is still unclear if the video is authentic or a hoax.
According to the statement, "There have been numerous stories of Marines adopting pets and sending them home from Iraq or helping to arrange life-saving medical care for Iraqi children. Those are the stories that exemplify what we stand for and how most Marines conduct their actions."
The Marines invited anyone wanting to sound off about the dog case to visit their website and click on the e-mail link. The furor has embarrassed the Marine Corps.
After all, the corps has a dog -- a bulldog -- as its official mascot.

I am a animal lover and if this is true than the person/persons needs to be charged with animal cruelty!!!!!! The Marines should not tolerate such cruelty to animals as this makes the Marines look bad!!! The poor little animal. The Marine or Marines that did this should be charged!!!!!!

They have a video of the incident and the name of the murderer and yet over 2 months later the USMC is STILL "investigating"? No wonder Bin Laden is on the loose and the war drags on. Our military has been taken over by MORONS

I have written to the Hawaii Marine corp twice now regarding their alteration of the date of their static press release. No updated info but they take the time to alter the date of the pres release every few days. Quite odd isnt it. One could almost think it is to fend peopel off from thinking they are trying to keep people at bay by making them seem like they are publishing news, when its completely old now and is in dire need of some update.

The Marine Corps "welcomes" our comments, they send you to a link that sends your "comment" to Mars. They don't care about the citizens of America. They only care about protecting their image and keeping our tax money flowing to keep this war going.
