In today's Times Home section, Molly Selvin describes the experience of watching diminutive, vibrant hummingbirds buzzing around her Mar Vista residence.

We've had a hummingbird feeder up for about six months now. We completely enjoyed watching our hummers, but they seem to have disappeared! The food is continually refreshed and the feeder is clean, so what gives?
