More maneuvering in teacher protest plans
The L.A. Unified school board plans to file a temporary restraining order today or Thursday to try and stop the teacher demonstration planned for Friday morning.
United Teachers Los Angeles members plan to not report for their first hour of work and instead protest proposed state budget cuts in front of their schools, leaving students to be supervised by aides and administrators.
The district is also awaiting the Public Employment Relations Board's official ruling for why they declined to file an injunction on behalf of L.A. Unified to stop the demonstration.

If I left my (government) job for an hour during regular work hours I wouldn't expect to have a job when I got back. If I complained to the public about the budget like my kids tell me their teachers complain to their students all day I wouldn't expect to have a job for much longer either. If you want to be treated like professionals, act like professionals and protest on your own time.

Thomas is clearly a school administrator or on the school board. Who cares what you can or can't do without losing your job. It's completely irrelevant. It doesn't give one good reason why teachers shouldn't fight for the quality of kid's education. You sound like someones senile grandma.
