Michelle Obama, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy when the coats came off!

Both the U.S. and French first ladies -- Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy -- looked more than a little dumpy wearing baggy bowed coats in Strasbourg at the NATO luncheon.

Michelle was in an eye-popping Thakoon number.

But check out the photo below to see how hot these ladies looked when they took off those dreadful old lady coats and settle in for some serious girl talk. Carla is wearing a sexy cap-sleeved gray Dior dress.

Did no one ever school Mrs. Obama in the proper way to sit on a sofa? Deplorable!

Beside the fact that it's not the first lady's job-above-all-else to look good, I think they both look lovely and clearly put effort into each outfit. Bruni-Sarkozy's outfit is especially great, jacket included. I would say that these two deserve absolutely no criticism for either look!
