So is it true that "High School Musical" hottie Vanessa Hudgens might, just might, be cast be as werewolf Leah Clearwater in the "Twilight" sequel, "New Moon"?
"Twilight's" Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, reportedly told MTV at a Golden Globes afterparty that Hudgens has actually auditioned for the role.
"I think she'd be great," MTV quotes Greene as saying of Hudgens.
There's no confirmation yet, but it sure would help explain what VHud was doing posing earlier this week at a Golden Globes swag suite with Taylor Lautner, the actor just confirmed to return as Jacob Black.
Early PR push, perhaps?
You gotta admit, that is veeery suspicious.

haha oh my god alyssa person, shes a good actress trying to improve her career if shes selected by the directors, she's obviously worth it, shes an actress regardless and just because she has done disney doesnt mean she is not capable of playing a more complex role.

Ew! I just threw up in my mouth. I love the cast because nobody was super big before the movie. I mean most were known actors, but they weren't all over the gossip pages. Adding Vanessa will screw that up. I'm sure most of the fans don't want her in the movie, including me.

Stephenie. please do no give Vanessa Hudgens the role of Leah. She is so wrong for the part. She will totally ruin the series for me, especially since she would be in more movies. Please consider an actress not so well known as a scanky Disney wanna be. Maybe America Ferrer

I don't have anything against vanessa but I just don't think she is right for the part...leah is such a strong character and if they put vanessa playing her I think it would sort of come off as a joke...especially since people don't want the mix with all these Disney stars...so it's nothing personal...but I'm up for Johnny Depp being one of the Volturi...he'd be good for one of those parts! :)

I am sick about all of this VH talk, SICK! I don't understand it at all, what, they have Taylor Lautner now so are they trying to cast people close to his height so they don't have to make him bigger unless he is with Bella? HELLO!! He is with Bella the entire movie, and VH as Leah is just heartbreaking, I DO NOT!!! like the girl. I think Ashely Greene was put on the spot and what could she say, No I dont want to see her on set, she is a Southern girl and would never say anything ugly about anyone, in public. Ponders... who will Miss Vanessa be sending porn pics to on that set. Hmm... hard to say, maybe she will just send them out to the entire cast, crew and extras!

Puleazzze! We do not need some "face down trying to make my eyes brooding and bedroom like while still maintaining what innocence I still have even though naked pix of me have been posted online little Disney GIRL" on this movie. This is one that needs to be taken seriously because of the fan obsession, yes I will say obsession (me included) over this whole series. Leah ends up playing a larger part in the series as it goes and Vanessa Hudgens doesn't cut it

OMG. this is horrible. there's no way she can portray lea clearwater. first of all, she's too disney like. lea clearwater has a lot of character and she's kinda of bitter/angry person in breaking dawn. i jst dont see her being like vanessa hudgen, whch is disney teenage girl all princessy like.
i think she might be better off playing a regular forks students if anything...

You know, I think this could possibly be cool. Yeah, she has this bubbly image right now, but maybe this could be a chance to expand her repertoire and strengthen her acting chops. Who knows, maybe she's really great under all that Disney stuff - lots of good actors and actresses have bubblegum roots...Anne Hathaway, Sarah Jessica Parker, Shia LaBeouf...I don't know, if she wins the role, I plan on giving her a chance to wow me.

I love twilight either way! If Vanessa is gonna be in the movie let it be!!! I think that some people are over reacting!! I love Alice in the book! I have not had much experience with her in actual life seeing her in other movies but i am sure she is right like always!!!! Twilight rocks and all of the members of the cast is gorgeous!!! I have nothing against vanessa hudgens but I don`t think casting her for New Moon would be a good idea, and she can have the look to play Leah Cleawater but she is just no good actess to be in this great movie. from high school musical to Twilight???
