Lisa Marie Presley defends John Travolta, Scientology
Lisa Marie Presley has written a post entitled "Now is the not the time" on her MySpace blog about John Travolta's son Jett’s death and the media’s criticism of Scientology.
She writes: "I wished I could be writing you under happier circumstances but I cannot because Two of my very good friends, (John and Kelly Travolta ) the sweetest people in the world have just encountered the worst possible tragedy a parent could be forced to endure, the death of their son Jett...but there are those certain ones that want to use this horrible tragedy as an opportunity to once again, blame and or attack Scientology?"

Sorry, but sometimes difficult questions must be asked. Especially if asking them might help prevent future tragedies of this nature.

I am a fan of John Travolta. I find it disturbing that people will feed off of others pain and suffering. I thing everyone should mind their own business and let this family deal with the loss of their son. It is discusting how the media blows everything out of proportion.Really people, get a life and stop speculating about how their son died.

It isn’t a matter of ‘belief’ of Scientology in in medical practices. It’s a matter of Scientology POLICY. They don’t even like you to take an aspirin. You go to Ethics Office.
Scientology goals are that the spirit can cure and do all things —- doesn't that includes tolerating physical medicine a physical instrument (human body) may need.
In Scientology the core basic fundamental belief is that it is a huge stigma — HUGE — about what the Scientology call being a “degraded being.” Any person who is not in control, successful, welthy, let alone sick or with special needs, is a called (technical term) a "downstat" and "degraded being." So how did the Scientologists view Jett ? his condition? And that the parents would "pull that in" (since they believe a person pulls all thigs to them). It would be interesting from a sociologial study point of view.
And if Jett goes on to another life, was his condition "handled" so he will be more "upstat"??

This family needs to be left alone to grieve.
As for the people who make nasty speculations, really you people need to back off, you were not there, you don't know the details of the situation other than tabloid trash, so those people need to leave this family alone.

Why is Lisa Marie Presley always sneering? like her songs she thinks everyone else is an idiot and is sooo hateful. Do we need more of that ugliness? She's on a free meal ticket form her wonderful kind hearted talented father. She mocks his cute curled up lip with that fake gross sneer. G R O S S gross gross.
Posted by: Poolie | January 06, 2009 at 06:37 PM
ELVIS himself said about scientology: "That s.o.b. group, all they want is my money"
We all know that the Travoltas cannot tell the truth about Hubbards useless tech interfering with their sons treatment.
"This family needs to be left alone to grieve" says a post above. The one who is at this very minute interfering with their grieving process is David Miscavige who has to make sure they stay in the cult.

Empathy is required for this family, any parents who have lost a child will know just how sadden and painful the family will be feeling. My God give them the strenght to go foward. we are meant to love one another, regardless of our beleifs. Please allow this family the space the they require at this time.

After seeing Tom Cruise go ballistic on NBC several (BrookE shields) Years ago condemming (demostrating his disapproval of medications and the rest of his RANT)what he did not like, One might question why when something so terrible happens to the FANS of Ron L. .. I suspect if Medical care for a child may/might have been an Idea that Ron L. did not like.
The people in question picked their own way, when others question the way that Ron L. took these people these same folks point at those that question that there may/may have been a chance for this event not to happen if MEDICAL intervention had taken place years inadvance.
Some states have laws, but RonL. is beyond reach
So, for the believers, where is Ron L. ?
What happened happened, you be the judge if others are at fault.

Who the hell is "Ron L."????? Do these dummies mean L. Ron Hubbard? Please don't submit comments, thet make you look stupid or confused.

Who the hell is Lisa Marie Presley to carry any weight on the significance or lack thereof. She's an ass, living off her dead dad's coat tails and was married to that FREAK Michael Jackson. Hey, Ms. Presley....no one cares what you think so go away into obscurity. Jerk.
Posted by: joe | January 07, 2009 at 07:19 AM
First, I must say that I think Travolta is a fantastic actor and, secondally, seems to be a down to earth real nice guy. HOWEVER, if my religion told/instructed/tought me to refrain and/or prohibited certain types of medical intervention...... and i listened to them............and whether related to it or not, my child died ........ there is NO question whatsoever that my actions (inactions) would be scrutinized and investigated thoroughly. No doubt at all !!!! So shouldn't a much beloved "Hollywood Actor/Billionairre" be held to the same standard or should we just sit back until, GOD FORBID, something tragic happens to Travolta's daughter and than, we all say, "Hey, maybe we should/ve given them a closer look after Jett died?" I suggest we merely look into/investigate the situation; therefore err on the side of caution for the sake of that young girl. I'm hopeful (and confident) there was no criminality involved in this boy's untimely death, however, if there's the least possibility of parental neglect, nonfeasance, malfeasonance, simple negligence and/or any hint of possible child endangerment, they...NO MATTER who they are should be given a second look by the authorities.

Fist off, who cares what Lisa Marie Presley thinks?
Further more I am sick of people saying let the family grieve and how we are jumping down Scientology's back. Well yes we are and for good reason. Now is NOT the time to be quiet about this tragedy. Just the oposite.
If this child was not famous there would have been a HUGE investigation. Scientology has made the Travolta's their victims and it is obvious that their case worker steered them in the wrong direction as far as caring for their son medically. Scientology case workers have NO medical experience what so ever, and should not be allowed to tell members what they think is right for them medically, when they have no medical credentials.
My heart goes out to the Travoltas, and their case worker should be questioned. The Travoltas are victims just like all other Scientology members. They are severely brainwashed. Travolta has been in since 1975. Do you really think he can think for himself now as far as the right thing to do? They have been drilling and auditing him for over 34 years!
Thousands and thosuands of cult members have died over the years, WAY too soon because of non treatment. The public just don't know about it, because it gets swept under the carpet. I had a friend that died of cancer too soon, because he never sought the proper treatment. He was OT III.
This psuedo science crap has to stop. And I also blame goverment for not stepping in more, and investigating Scientology more.
Tick Tock Scientology...too many deaths on your hands. It's time to come clean and let the public know , just how much of an abusive cult Scientology is and that all you care about is MONEY.

When it comes to the death of a child, regardless of who you are, who you know or how much money you possess, too bad!!!!! Questions MUST be asked IMMEDIATELY, even of this nation's beloved Vinnie Barbarino. I do not wish the death of a child on anyone (even Osama Bin Laden); however, a parents "right" to be left alone to grieve comes second to the health and welfare of the child still alive and presently in the Travolta's custody. I'm not saying let's start a involuntary manslaughter / negligent homocide trial later today ...... but ...... a thorough and exhaustive investigation should begin immediately / before the weeks' end and Mr. Travolta is out if the county filming for the next 6+ months.
NOTHING.....NOTHING AT ALL ..... is more important than protecting and properly caring for our children; even making good movies for the masses.
I pray to God this young boy's life being ended so very early was merely a freak unavoidable situation, rather than parental neglect in obtaining proper, competant and effective medical care and treatment. But, shouldn't we make certain of this, primarily for the sake, welfare and future of Travolta's living daughter.

Kelly Preston, Scientology and the Citizen Commission on Human Rights have no problem protesting the funeral of a murdered child for their own political purposes.
As sad as it is for the Travolta family, they sponsor the exploitation of others that are suffering with their active participation and funding of the CCHR.
Not to mention that Jett was shown to respond to medication and yet no further medication options were explored. Jett is the one who faced everyday with the fear of another seizure. A life of fear is difficult and damning to live.
Religious beliefs are a freedom, but the legal responsibility to protect your minor child's welfare and safety far out weigh any excuses of craziness.
I find no reason the Travolta should not be held accountable in this tragedy. This death was an accident allowed to happen due via arrogance.
I also think the wish-wash of Scientology needs to be sorted out and examined closely.
My sincere condolences go out to the family.

Well, I'm glad to hear that John Travolta was not too grief striken to enjoy flying the plane back from the Bahamas.
By the way, what's the deal with the preceding post (above me). It's like written in poetry format.

No parent, whether as otherwise famous and fortunate as John Travolta, should have to see his or her own child die. It is as equally tragic whether for a major Hollywood actor or any of the hundreds of millions of parents in the world's poorest nations.
And unlike Hollywood's other top Scientologist, Mr. Travolta has never made a fool of himself by bouncing on couches, condemning Brooke Shields for using Paxil, stating that psychiatry "is a Nazi science", or that methadone was actually originally called Adolophine after Adolf Hitler, ect. Mr. Travolta has spoken - and outstandingly - through his work.
However, and the questions need to be asked, considering the stellar medical claims of Scientology*, why did Travolta's son even have medical problems or have these conditions cause the son's death?

I can't imagine what the Travolta family is going through right now. I am deeply sorry for there loss. This is happening more and more around this country. Why I ask? I just found out at age 46 that I have had autism for several years suffering from mild seizures. There has been some neurological damage. I am not posting this about me. What I would like to do is discuss the future of natural medicine and neurology with someone and the impact of what I see for the future of this country. If there is anyone out there interested please contact me. There is way too many of these tragic things happening to wonderful people all over! Anyone that would like to make some changes please contact me.

From "Welcome Back Kotter" until now, it has been a long journey for John Travolta. Like me, there are many bystanders who have enjoyed his road to success, not to mention his genuinely honest and kind personality as well. He has given so much of himself in so many different ways. As a fan, I pray that we can now offer our hearts in condolence for the unthinkable loss both he and his wife are now suffering. May goodness prevail and a shroud of decency protect them from the unsavory ones wishing to make money from this tragedy. Life for them will never be the same, but perhaps knowing that others whom they have never personally met are sending their love and prayers during this difficult time will give them a small amount of peace. God be with you John, Kelly and Ella.

Mabbee Lisa Marie should stick to her sizzling hot career and leave the advice about recognizing fraud when it's peddled by a multimillion dollar corporation that exists on indentured slavery to others.

I know taking medication is frowned upon; but, obviously, eating vast amounts of food to you nearly explode is acceptable.
