Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have announced their new baby daughter’s name.
It is Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck.
The baby was born Jan. 6 in Los Angeles. Garner and Affleck also have an older daughter, Violet, 3.
Ben's sure got a lot of females in the house now.
People says that no explanation was offered for the name, including whether she was named for anyone.
One website specializing in the origin of names refers to Seraphina as "derived from the Biblical word 'seraphim,' which was Hebrew in origin and meant 'fiery ones.'
Seems the seraphim were an order of angels, described by Isaiah in the Bible as having six wings each. This was also the name of a 13th-century Italian saint who made clothes for the poor. It is an uncommon name in English.
Maybe Sera for short? And we love that there's a flower name — Rose — to go with Violet.
Seraphina Rose is kinda like Sunday Rose, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's new baby daughter.

Lovely name. A seraph (Heb. שׂרף, pl. שׂרפים Seraphim, lat. seraph[us], pl. seraphi[m]) is one of a class of celestial beings mentioned once in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh or Old Testament), in Isaiah. Later Jewish imagery perceived them as having human form, and in that way they passed into the ranks of Christian angels. In the Christian angelic hierarchy, seraphim represent the highest known rank of angels.

What a beautiful name-they seem like a lovely couple, devoted parents. Nice that there is positive press out there for a normal couple. I'm so sick of all the spoiled nut jobs in Hollywood!

My grandaughter's name is also Seraphina. Her parents made the name up from the Bible. (Seraph Angels for God)
I was wondering how they came up with the same name??
