Perez Hilton names Miley Cyrus 'villain of the year'

As 2009 nears, journalists across the coverage spectrum are rolling out their year-end round-ups, and intrepid gossip blogger Perez Hilton is no exception. In an interview with the New York Post yesterday, Hilton reflected on some of his favorite lowlights of 2008.

When asked who the villain of the year was, Hilton didn't miss a beat. "Miley Cyrus," he replied. "She just seemed to do nothing right. She started off poorly with pictures, leaked from her cellphone, of her in the shower. Then the Vanity Fair shoot, the trashing of her fellow costars, dating a 20-year-old when she's only 15 . . . but, whether we like it or not, she's a superstar. She's very crafty at getting our attention."

In the interview, Hilton also discussed his upcoming book. "Red Carpet Suicide," which he dedicated to none other than Britney Spears. "Without her my website would not be as fun," Hilton told the Post. "My life would not be as fun, either." As for Britney's new, healthy, seemingly sane persona, Hilton has mixed feelings: "Part of me does miss Crazy Britney."

What i dont get it...Miley is only a 16 year ld kid who ok has made mistakes but thats part of growing up..it doesnt make her a villian.Try thinking about how Miley must feel all she is trying to do is live her dream but idiots like perez hilton feel the need to try and destroy that for her..

miles cyrus is a good person she is down to earth and very out spoken she talks about the paparazi in her new music video "fly on the wall" and it explains how it feels to be followed and look what they did to britney she went crazy but I'm happy she is better and all her new songs are good she is. I agree with Perez. I mean come on sure we all make mistakes BUT most normal teens with their heads on straight DON'T take pictures like Miley has been. She may not be VILLAIN of the year but, she does need to grow up. She is a role-model for young children. She needs to realize that puts more pressure on her to be mature and not slutty. Thats disgusting.....not what she did the things half of you are saying, who cares if shes dating a 20 year old theres 4 years between hundreds of coupes i know. There are heaps of teenagers who do just as stupid things and their not under the pressure of doing concerts, recording a hannah montana and miley cyrus albums and filming her TV show and doing what normal teenagers do. Shes an amazing singer and actress.
