'The Hills' Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt elope

Who says romance is dead? Despite their well documented thirst for publicity, “The Hills" stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt opted to elope last week, in lieu of throwing a massive ceremony. How romantic, right? Intrepid gossip czar Perez Hilton broke the news this morning.

Why, you ask, if they wanted the intimacy of elopement, did Heidi and Spencer sell wedding photos to US Weekly? Well folks, they’re still Heidi and Spencer.   

And plus, their reasons for eloping may not all have been romantic. According to the US Weekly cover posted on Perezhilton.com, it could have more to do with Heidi’s mother not wanting her to marry Spencer. “Heidi defies her mom and runs away to wed,” reads the cover.

Even though I do not know her or feel that I should not care, it is so sad to see a family hurt this badly over their daughter eloping this way. I just watched the MTV after show and Heidi's sister was in tears over the news...this just goes to show that Love truly can be blind. I think Spencer had to hurry and seal the deal w/Heidi before tonight's episode of The Hills came out bc he is actually behind the "Dino" --the one who spread those loathsome and frightful rumors about Lauren and JustinBobby- As If. Actually, he didn't spread the rumors, Audrina did, but he planted the seed. Let us just pray that those two have not spawned!!

I don't understand how someone can really be so blind to how they are being treated and then go behind their family and get married. just tell them heidi they would have disagreed but no matter what I'm sure they would supported you in the end your family and getting married is a huge part of life that family is a big part of. Well it doesn't really surprise me! These two truly deserve each other! I use to feel bad for Heidi thinking that Spencer just manipulated her in everything! What an idiotic move on Heidi's part! Spencer obviously is a manipulative person who isn't nice to Heidi's family and friends! Doesn't she see the whole picture?! This is an example of how love is so blind! I can definitely see divorce in the future, but if I'm wrong, let's see if they can prove it and last at least 7 years....we'll see....hehehe! I think that Spencer continues to stay on The Hills because both he and Heidi each get paid $65,000 for every episode and therefore, that's why he doesn't have a job! It's sick to see such a mean, terrible, self-centered, cocky person on every week knowing that he makes that much money, but that's the drama in it all!

These two are the most horrible people I have ever had this displeasure of reading about and seeing, and I do not understand why US would give them a COVER of a MAGAZINE. Not only do these pieces of trash have NO endearing qualities, but SPENCER PRATT IS AN ABUSIVE, MANIPULATIVE PSYCHOPATH. There is more than one way to be abusive, and he has brainwashed Heidi Montag (as much as I hate her too) and absolutely ruined her life. If you can't call your own mother or sister before your wedding is announced TO THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, then you are not in a healthy relationship. Gift shop wedding rings?? A makeshift wedding in Cabo?? Don't be surprised if Spencer kidnaps her. He reminds me of Mark Wahlberg's character in the movie Fear. I just hope she doesn't have kids with him, because God knows that spawn of Satan should not reproduce for all of our sakes. I really, truly feel sorry for Heidi's family. This must be like a funeral for them. PLEASE stop giving these people publicity!!

There is something seriously wrong with Heidi. Maybe she was abused as a kid. There is no other reason that she would allow somone to talkto her like that on a daily basis. Spencer is the meanest person in a relationship I have seen. He knows that Heidi is easy to play and will do whatever he wants as long as she is kept from having a support group. Its sort of too bad. Heidi knows she should leave Spencer, but she just doesn't want to prove everyone right. the sad thing is that everyone already knows they are right.
