Prince says no on gay rights. Guns N' Roses' Slash says yes?
OK, let's see if we can get this straight.
The uber-androgyne, sequin-sporting and high heel-wearing singer Prince told The New Yorker that he isn't in favor of gay marriage/unions. Then he denied he said it, but the magazine stands by its reporter.
But Slash (Saul Hudson), musician/guitarist/songwriter in the hard-core rock band Guns N' Roses, and his wife, Perla Hudson, are in favor of gays marrying the persons they love.
Here's the video the couple released urging people to vote no on Prop 8.
Wow. In the words of the Kinks, "What a mixed-up, muddled up, shook-up world."
What do you think?
Who's right? Slash or Prince?
And why do we care what they think?
For more on Prince:
Prince denies gay rights remarks, New Yorker stands by story

First of all, Slash is not the guitar player for G&R. Prince is right. Who cares what slash and his wife think. If you want gays and lesbows to be together go overseas!!!!

For most of us in the LGBT community, it's not about marriage as much as it is about equality and protection. My state (Florida) just Amended our Constitution to define marriage or anything similar to marriage like domestic partnership only legal if it's between a man and a woman. Now the right wing religious zealots are suing local municipalities that offer domestic partner benefits. We pay taxes, we are citizens, we should have the same rights. Thank you Slash and Perla for standing up for us. Prince, come out of the closet already!

Well Slash was the guitar player for Guns 'n' Roses, and who cares. I say why can't gays be as unhappy as the rest of us! Let them marry if they want and stop being prejudice you prick.

it's not about equality, it's about forcing the demented views of having un-natural sex with the same gender. it's the same as having sex with animals.

Although I must say that I 100% advise completely against homosexuallity (I am a Christian and know what God says about it), I have to say that it is really screwed up that if you unfortunately choose to be gay (I know that it's not PC to suggest gays 'choose' to be gay but I'm not proving myself to anyone but God) you cannot have benefits for your partner. I think that sucks. I think it sucks that if you are gay and your boyfriend (who would've been your husband if you could've married) dies you have, basically, no say in (a) how he's burried, (b) the inheritence, (c) if you can even attend his funeral... Not to mention that all his belongings (including house, car, etc.) are now property of next of kin. I may be against homosexuality but even I can see that that's messed up. This is oppressive. This is archaic.
