Sarah Palin should shop 'n' save with Michelle Obama!
Monday night, Michelle Obama appeared on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno wearing a bright and optimistic yellow skirt ensemble.
When Leno asked what she thought about the fashion flap over Gov. Sarah Palin's $150,000 wardrobe from Barney's and Saks Fifth Avenue, Michelle was sincere, sympathetic and circumspect.
“I try to be as empathetic, I mean, especially a VP pick, it’s like being shot out of a cannon and all of sudden you’re at the center of attention," said Michelle. "And you want to look good, you know. But our policy has always been whatever we buy for us, we buy. Because you know, that's just been the way we’ve run things. But you know, you’re living in your home, minding your business and, all of a sudden, you’re on the national stage and everyone’s looking.”
Michelle never discussed the cost of her outfit, although she did mention j. Crew and shopping online.
One website, LimeLife.com, tallied up the cost of her ensemble, not including shoes or jewelry, like that cool green and yellow broach.
Here’s its breakdown, just in case you're interested in these things:
J.Crew, Crystal-button Colorblock Cardigan, $89.99, jcrew.com
J.Crew, Pembridge-Dot Pencil Skirt, $148, jcrew.com
J.Crew, Solid Silk Elizabeth Halter, $68, jcrew.com
Not including taxes, shipping and handling: $305.99
Who would you rather shop with? Is your style -- and your clothing budget -- more like Sarah Palin's or Michelle Obama's?

But that is for just one outfit for one person. Palin dragged most of her family along so they all had to look good.

Michelle Obama is the real deal-Sarah Palin is phony and a liar. Michelle is a true woman in all ways-Sarah is pathetic.
Thank goodness Michelle will be our first lady.

Darn it ... Mrs. Obama's taste in clothing is really ... terrible. The dress she wore on election night was ghastly. Well, JUST my opinion, but really would like to see her dress more like a 40+ year old lady than the 'trampy' look that seems to be so popular.

So on the tonight show Michelle Obama wore an outfit that only cost $305.99. Do we know how many outfits were bought for Sarah Palin? She wore nice suits. I can tell you that a nice suit is going to cost a lot more than a dress. She also returned the clothes after the campaign. People criticize her because she dressed nicely. However if she had worn a suit from K-mart she would have been criticized for that also. A girl just can't win, with the media working against her.
