'Family Guy' links John McCain, Sarah Palin to Nazis?
Uh-oh. Did "Family Guy" go too far?
In Sunday night's episode, two characters, Stewie (a talking baby) and Brian (a talking dog), end up being transported to Poland during the Nazi invasion of World War II.
In one scene, they beat up and steal two Nazi officers' uniforms. When Stewie looks down at his Nazi jacket, he notices a McCain-Palin campaign button attached to the lapel. He says, “Huh, that’s weird."
But maybe it's not so weird considering that the show's creator, Seth MacFarlane, is a big Barack Obama fan, major Democratic Party contributor and spoke at an Obama rally in Ohio in early October.
Guess he's just wearing his politics on his sleeve. Or rather, his lapel.
What do you think? Cheap shot? Or spot on?

SPOT ON

What a stupid question. "Cheap shot? Or spot on?"
How could you even ask if it's "spot on" or not? You're basically asking the question, "are John McCain and Sarah Palin Nazis?"

Guns? Check.
War? Check.
Antisemitism? Well, not overtly, but they are white Protestant Fundamentalists.
Homophobia? Check.

Itchin’ for a fight with Russia? Check.
Eradication of anyone who disagrees with them? Check.
Right-wing tendencies that bear an uncanny resemblance to Fascism? Check!

If people really get "up in arms" about this, it's ridiculous. For one thing, it's a satirical cartoon. For another, comparing Obama to terrorists seems to be perfectly fine (although he's never displayed any terrorist-leanings), but all of a sudden comparing McCain/Palin to Nazis is "too far"? (Especially with the heavily racist leanings of their rallies)

Eh, if Obama is a socialist, McCain and Palin sure are nazis. Gotta love political name-calling!

I found it funny, but yeah it was a cheap shot

So McFarlane uses a baby to speak for him. That's called ignorant coward. Every survivor of the Nazi Holocaust is a testament to that which the likes of McFarlane and Obama want to extinguish. Sadly, McFarlane and "the one" suffer from a terminal condition called cerebral rectal inversion. No doubt a result of an incomplete abortion.

I think it was spot on...maybe too far but it was pretty damn funny. Plus I hate Palin and if calling her a Nazi will keep her out of the white house then so be it!!

Cheap shot or not, it's still a free country (mostly), isn't it???

Note to LA Times and others: You shouldn't bother uploading F.G. clips to YouTube. Fox is VERY protective of their copyrights and will delete it right away. Only Hulu and KTLA have approval to run selected clips on YT. It sucks, but it's reality. Best you can do is find a small-time YT-like website and try there. ;-)

Um, if any of you had EVER watched anywhere from 2 to 5 min of 'Family Guy', then you already know that McFarlane's humor is mostly based on 'cheap' shots. That being said, I found the Nazi episode rather funny.

Nazis? Racists? Anti-Semites? Homophobes? You liberal haters - and I've honestly never seen so much political viciousness from the left in my life as I have in this campaign - need to get a sense of perspective.

Even if you don't agree with Seth's politics, Family Guy fans know it comes with the terriority.
The episode before this one they had Jesus lecture George Bush, and the week before that they had Lois dress up as "the guy Laura Bush killed."
