Why did Travis Barker take a private jet, not a commercial plane?
Why did Travis Barker, pictured at right, and DJ AM take a private plane back to Los Angeles after doing a free concert in South Carolina?
Barker reportedly doesn't like to fly in private jets, preferring commercial planes.
According to a TMZ report, the wife of Barker's business partner Chris Baker was about to give birth. That information has since been disputed.
A rep for DJ AM released the following statement Saturday evening: "Chris Baker did not ask for a jet to meet his wife in delivery because she's not even pregnant. A private jet had always been chartered as DJ AM had a private engagement today in Los Angeles."
The private plane crashed shortly after midnight, critically injuring DJ AM and Barker and killing four others on board, including Baker.

Life sucks get over it. Things in life happens. Get over it. Yeah it is a shame that people died. Are they more important then the people in our own lives? Next time you write an article don't ask why, ask, why are they more important? Musician, DJ, not the first to be in a airline accident, normal ordinary people, same. But next time you see CNN report that these two celebrities, which was told by name, are mentioned and four others, who names are not mentioned, ask why? Society sucks, life sucks, we all live and die. But wondering why this dippies took a private plane instead of a commercial is just "plane" stupid. Nice reporting.......
People are people all the same! We treat each other with the same respect.
"Why did DJ AM and Travis Barker take a private plane back to Los Angeles after a doing a free concert in South Carolina? " Who gives a crap. Love people for who they are....people not celebrities. Try to report actual news next time, not one person who was on TV for 1 year was hurt. I guarantee if Mike Edmonds passed on now one would care (look em up). How about Karen McNaulty, or Johnson McCrane. Dicky!

I am not a fan of Barkers ... at all. But do not wish pain, suffering or death on anyone. My heart goes out to those who actually lost their lives. Death is no joke.

Why on Earth is Travis' decision to take a private jet instead of a commercial flight being questioned at this time?
Surely there is a much more important issue here, that being his health condition. I sincerely hope he gets better and back to his performing best soon!
To those that were unfortunate enough to perish in the accident, RIP.

Travis is my hero. What does it matter if he flew private? If you believe in fate, then it would have been a bigger plane that crashed and more people dead.
I'm praying for Trav and AM. At least these two 'celebs' are celebrated for being fantastic at what they do.
My thought go to anyone effected by this horrible accident

I'm praying for Travis and AM and for the families of those who did not survive. This is such tragic news. I'm a fan of Travis and pray for the day that we can once again see him doing what he loves and that is playing his drums.

To the man who wrote "Life Sucks"....if you had read other article about this story then you would know that the names of the deceased were acknowledge in just about every other write up. It looks to me that this was just an update. I have never been a fan of either of the survivors however they are both walking miracles. Even the Doctors said anyone who survived a plane crash like this is a walking miracle....so it appears that life doesn't always sucks. These guys will recover and hopefullyuse their experience to help others. Maybe one day they will help you! God is good all the time....even when we don't understand. My heart goes out to all the families in mourning. Jesus is the Answer!

There is no death. Souls don't die, they just change form, and they are always around us. This is a miracle, and it will change their lives forever. Glory be to God.

I met Travis coming out of Pure some time last year,as i was employed at Caesars. I was lucky enough to have his arms around me, as we both hugged, and tell him how good he smelled. Now i ask that God above embrace him and DJ Adam to a speedy recovery and put a smile on their face, like he had for me and many others. Just wanting to send love from Vegas! Love, V! xoxox
