Singer Pink leads the pack against Sarah Palin
In 2006 Pink challenged the policies of George W. Bush in her song "Dear Mr. President."
How can you say
No child is left behind?
We're not dumb and we're not blind.
Now Pink has a few words for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, John McCain's VP choice.
"If I were writing a letter to Sarah Palin," Pink told PopEater this week, "it would be a lot of whys and hows. Who are you? Do you know? Why do you hate animals? Please point out Iraq on a map."
What scares Pink are women who believe that Palin's pick is a victory for modern women.
"This woman hates women," Pink said. "She is not a feminist. She is not the woman that's going to come behind Hillary Clinton and do anything that Hillary Clinton would've been capable of.... I can't imagine overturning Roe vs. Wade. She's not of this time. The woman terrifies me."
The outspoken singer and animal rights activist also believes that natural wildlife should be worried.
(Some background on Palin's controversial policies in Alaska that Pink is opposed to after the jump....)
According to Slate, in 2007, Palin proposed that the state pay hunters $150 for the foreleg of every wolf gunned down by aerial hunting (meaning they're shot by hunters in low-flying helicopters or small planes).
Animal rights activists -- particularly Defenders of Wildlife, which released a 527 ad on Friday about the controversial policy (see the video below) -- say this method of hunting is inhumane.
According to the Wolf Conservation Center, "Alaska is the only state in the U.S. where private trophy hunters can use aircraft to gun down wolves from low-flying planes or chase them to exhaustion, then land and shoot them at point-blank range."
Because of these concerns and others, Congress passed the Federal Airborne Hunting Act of 1972, making it illegal for hunters to shoot animals from a plane or helicopter.
But Alaska uses a loophole covering "predator control," Slate notes. Wolves, foxes and coyotes can be gunned down to protect "land, water, wildlife, livestock, domesticated animals, humans or crops."
Since 2003, Alaska has issued aerial wolf-hunting permits in areas where moose and caribou populations are endangered. Today's aerial killers are unpaid, unlike in the past, but they can make money by selling the slaughtered animals' fur.
(Hmmm. Couldn't possibly involve celebrity fur lovers Sharon Stone or Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, right?)
"I can't imagine shooting a wolf out of a helicopter," Pink says.
Me neither. Can you? Tell us in the comments below.

Note: The video below was created by Defenders of Wildlife, a U.S.-based nonprofit named America's best wildlife charity by Reader's Digest in 2005, and an organization that has been involved in conserving wolf populations in Alaska for 30 years. Be advised that the video is a disturbing account of a brutal act.

This Palin Aerial Wolf Hunting awareness campaign is currently running in Ohio. It should run nationwide, IMO. Please support it at:

I'm a moderate and I'm voting for Obama. One of the reasons is Sarah Palin's archaic views on abortion (opposes it even in the case of rape or incest).
As a young woman I'm also very interested in both the environment and wildlife. Sarah Palin wants to drill for gas and oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Ms. Palin also supports aerial hunting of wolves and bears which is completely unjust and unnecessary according to biologists and wildlife experts. Additionally, Ms. Palin wants to take both the Polar Bear and the Beluga Whale off the endangered species list (so that they can be hunted) since they're getting in the way of more oil drilling.
Ms. Palin cares more about oil and money than wildlife, the environment and the future.

Palin was an active promoter of a practice that even most hunters call inhumane. It is not hunting it is slaughter. Becaue of the aerial platform from which shots are taken, animals are often maimed and suffer significantly. It's not sporting, and there's no justification for it in Alaska -- no game is endangered.

Pink is such a loser. Pink is such a skank. How in the world could any woman in the USA hold Hillary to the level of the same quality of a person and as a candidate as Sarah Palin? Palin is a true class act! When are these Hollywood loons going to realize that anytime they endorse a candidate that the rest of middle America votes for the other candidate because when a Hollywood loon endorses a candidate its "codeword" for wako! Thank God Palin doesn't get the endorsements of Pink and Diddy and Clooney.....however, Zucker and the Head of MGM have some class and they endorsed Palin....God bless these two men who finally stood against the libs and goons in tinsle town.

I find it interesting celebrities like Pink and Pam Anderson try to be the moral compass of Politics lol. Pink said herself she would ask Palin, "who are you?" In that case, what gives Pink the right to make all these judgments on Palin? Whatch it Pink...Palin's "commmming out so you better get this party started"

There is a reason wolves are hunted by airplanes in Alaska. It is a method, introduced by wildlife biologists, to control the population of of preditors. Wolves are so numerous in Alaska that residents can kill 5 wolves a day with only a hunting licsence. You can disagree with the practice but please don't pretend to know what is going on in Alaska if you don't live there or are not a wildlife biologist. People like Pink are entitled to their opinions but they are not entitled to lie about subjects to further their agenda, and just because someone hunts does not make them cruel or hatefull towards aninals.

I have never seen a woman that I admire more then Sarah Palin. She has it all! She has
far more to offer then
women from Hollywood!
She is a Christian and lives her faith, unlike those that want to kill their babies! She is smart and can maneuver in ways that most women can't. I hope and pray that she is President one day.

Who cares what Pink thinks? She's not even part of the real world.
Posted by: Big Shaker | September 13, 2008 at 01:35 PM
I would agree that Sarah Palin scares me! Anyone - man or woman, who doesn't blink an eye (Palin's response) when asked to be Vice President of the United States, has a HUGE problem with being full of themself. Might she even find out if her family wants to go on this ride with her or is it all about her?????

I agree with Danny. Pink is a very rich artist with an easy life. She cant speak to any level be that Hillary or Palin. If Pink cares so much about the Wild Life in Alaska, why hasnt she donated millions of her own money each year to preservation? Reason? She secretly like being rich. Just another Democrat-wanna-be whiner from LA. Go smoke you dope and zip it!

WTF?! Sarah Palin should be a role model for feminist. I think feminist hate her because she is HOT! Shes smart, confident, and HOT!!! just because she can hunt and is pro life the feminist hate her

HaHa, Pink's FACE terrifies me. Is she even a woman? It's hard to tell with that manface and body of hers.
I think Sarah Palin is fantastic. You Dems are justifiably now afraid of your messiah losing this election because the numbers for the hope and change bandwagon are tanking as fast as Palin/mcCain's are rising.
I cannot WAIT to witnes the collective heart attack you libs will have in November, haha.
In the meantime, Pink, just shut up and sing.

Who cares what Pink thinks? Seriously?

Sarah is the best thing that has happened to the state of Alaska in a long time. Looking at the two pictures of Pink or Sarah I know who I would prefer to be my girls role model. Pink has no grasp on Alaska or what needs we may have up here. People in the villages depend on caribou and moose to live off of. How do you suppose we keep the caribou around if we don't manage other predators in the area, Wolf packs are over sized and killing off food resources faster than the carribou can reproduce. Wolves have 4-8 pups in a litter where caribou have 1 or 2 per year. When wolf packs get too large they kill more to sustain their pack needs and it results in depletion of caribou and moose... eventually they will start killing off the weaker wolves too, due to lack of food. Survival of the fittest. What is more important... having tons of wolves with no food... letting them come into towns and attack our kids and pets and eating our food or killing a few wolves to maintain all the resources... I am sorry but I say kill the wolves. You have no place to judge us Alaskans based on how we live and our needs. Sarah Palin understands these problems and helped us maintain our way of living. Kudos to her!

Get your priorities straight you mindless individuals who would prioritize an animal, a viscious wolf, to a living human being. You sicken me.
Posted by: PinkforPalin | September 13, 2008 at 04:25 PM
Danny, Danny, Danny. Don't obscure the issues being raised by shouting red herrings.
For one, Palin is on the ticket as VICE PRESIDENT. The election winner does not go on to pose in Maxim or Playboy.
Just as people question whether Palin could accurately identify Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan on a map, we wonder about you, too.
It's "tinsel," by the way.

Sarah Palin claims to have a deep respect for life - human life - as she is opposed to the choice of being able to have an abortion even in the case of rape or incest. Animals, quite to the contrary, aren't a consideration of Palin's. She voted against the Polar Bear being put on the endangered species list. She is a hunter of large game like moose. She believes that wolves should be shot if they threaten the profits of farmers' breeding animals to be sold and slaughtered for human consumption. Animals don't rate high on her list of priorities, if they rate at all. Albert Einstein, who was a hell of a lot smarter than Palin or Pink said: "Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet." And another pretty smart fella, Albert Schweitzer, had this to say: "Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace." I believe that if we don't look at the world and the other living beings that inhabit it in a more holistic way, our future is doomed no matter who is in office. Anyone that could look at this video and not feel a deep sense of sadness at the suffering of a sentient being is turned off to the things that really matter in this world, and that's a very sad thing.

If the education one has is limited, and you suffered from severe toilet-training and had an extremely aurthoritarian up-bringing, and are generally a very lame and intolerant brain washed individual, the more likely it is that you would support the likes of Sarah Palin.
Posted by: teri | September 13, 2008 at 07:35 PM
To all you Palin lovers: Get real. She is a disgrace to all women. Moreover, what kind of people gun down wolves from helicopters and low-flying planes, and then go right into the den and kill innocent, orphaned cubs. And she supports this practice? It will be nothing but the further ruination of this country (as if Bush hasn't done enough damage in his eight pathetic years) if McCain/Palin take over. The only reason she's the VP nominee is because she has tits and the rich pigs in Washington are all about the OIL, OIL, OIL, and she'll give them ANWR. This country needs to wake up. There's a reason why such a tiny percent of the population has most of the country's wealth. Are we all brain dead? We're like lambs to the slaughter. Silly little lemmings, the American public. Hello! McCain and Palin would be the beginning of the end for us all.
Oh yeah, and some of you people who post messages might want to learn how to spell. You sound like morons.
Please support Defenders of Wildlife. The wolves deserve better than this.

Typical arrogance and disrespect for those who don't drink the kool-aid hollywood and the radical left are serving. While I may disagree with Palin on most social issues, I understand and respect her values and how she and many (if not most) Americans come to have similar values. And until the Dems stop condescending and insulting half the country for "bitterly clinging to guns & religion" they will continue to be the party that can actually lose to Bush, twice...

Sarah Palin is in no supports policies that would be consistent witih feminism. Nor does she appear to understand what the Bush Doctrine is, which basically demonstrates an utter lack of attention to the world of politics. How insulting her convetion speech was to half the country, filled with sarcasm, bitterness, and cynicism. I'll take Obama's learned, open-hearted leadership over her feckless cronism any day of the week, and I"ll be damned if a bunch of right-wing intolerant haters will steal my country AGAIN.

Thank you for exposing this merciless butcher of wildlife. This is no prolife person. She is an exploiter of the living and will will silence the voice of Women and Wildlife. A few weeks ago, this woman approved the slaugher of an entire wolf pack and slaughter of all the pups in the wolf den. We can not allow this monster to be in leadership, say NO to McCain an Palin!

Pink-you are a rock goddess! She's right about everything she says.
Also-Pink is a huge animal activist. Can the woman get any better? Lets hope the Democrats don't screw it up and lose. I will be the optimist here-when Barack wins- I totally recommend Pink for a Cabinet Position. Any one-she'll rock!
