Michael Lohan to Barack Obama: Let go of Lindsay's past
Well, you knew this had to happen.
Michael Lohan says Barack Obama is like the pot calling the kettle black.
This week, he reacted to Barack Obama's rumored refusal of Lindsay Lohan's offer to do a fundraiser for him.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Barack's camp felt that her Hollywood party girl reputation would not be helpful to his campaign.
"For Barack Obama to condemn my daughter for past indiscretions when he admitted to the exact same himself is indicative of what kind of president he would be," Michael Lohan told Fox's News Pop Tarts via e-mail on Wednesday night.
"His visions of a positive future for this country should be representative of a positive future for people as well. It is looking beyond the difficult times and letting go of the past. Obviously, Obama can do this for himself and not others, when in fact a good president should have hope for all."
Let's face it, Michael Lohan will use any excuse and any event in his estranged daughter's life to offer his opinion, grandstand and further embarrass the girl. But maybe this time he has a point.
What do you think?
Does Barack's admitted wild teenage drug and alcohol use mean that he should not judge LIndsay Lohan so harshly, if indeed, he actually did?

Maybe, just maybe, Obama has better and more improtant things to do right now than to hang out with Lindsay Lohan. Reality check Michael Lohan you're an idiot.

Yes he admited to some wrong doing in his past but Obama can not be compared to Lohan. How many time has he been filmed drunk with his private area exposed? How many time has he been to rehab? What degrees does Lindsey have? Her father needs to spend more time worrying about the mess his daugher is making of her life then who wants her to campaign for them.

Wait, Obama's not a post-partisan messiah and is actually just another slimy, hypocritical politician trying to get elected? NO WAY!
/sarcasm

Ummm, are you kidding? Lindsey "is" a party girl, Barrack "was" a party girl:)
So why would you want someone who has a bad public image to do a fundraiser? It would be like an ex-alcoholic letting an alcoholic have a fundraiser for them. What would "that" say to the public. Fox news propaganda trying it's best to attack the big O! And what about that lame commercial that tried to link Barrack to Paris/Lindsey/Spears as a "rock star." Do you think that would prove the commercials point?
Are people that stupid?

This is ridiculous. Who is Michael Lohan? And who cares whether he likes Obama?
What a non-news item!

Who cares what the Lohans think? If they really want to help the Obama campaign, they can start by not injecting themselves into the race and compete for headlines. At a time of an economic crisis the voters don't need to be reminded of the celebrity headlines unfairly attached to Obama's name.

It was a hypocritical statement. Barack is a smart guy and should have come up with another excuse or in fact used her past as a card of redemption. For "THE ONE" who has so many duped by his own Messiah complex to have taken such an un-Christian attitude proves that he is not ready to lead because if drug use and being a wild child is so detrimental then he should be disqualified from running for President. Buying and being in possesion with some sort of intent is a common de facto practice in the handling of cocaine and thus by admitting to cocaine use Obama has admitted to being a felonous acting criminal.
According to the Bible the Prodigal Son (in this case daughter) should have been wrapped in robes with rings placed on her fingers and the fatted calf served in her honor. Instead you we have a media meglomaniac who worships the golden calf with the rest of his elitist friends lost in the desert.

Obama dissed Brad Pitt's offer to campaign for him also.....I think everyone reading this article would agree that Lindsay Lohan has less star power and crowd drawing capability than Brad Pitt......And oh by the way, I think Lindsay's dad is an idiot....He just wanted to get some attention, that's all....

Ha Ha, I wouldnt let that girl throw a fund raiser for me either, and plus no one cares what the lohan's have to say,
Posted by: lmfao | September 18, 2008 at 01:41 PM
I think Lindsey Lohan should be allowed to campaign for Obama. But just to be fair, Larry Craig should be allowed to campaign for McCain.

If the Lohans really support Obama, they need to stop this shinnanigans! You can't FORCE someone to accept you. You must EARN their trust. lashing out at them publicly isn't the way to go. Get off your high horses for the American people's sake!

This is not news. Stop entangling dignified figures such as Barack Obama with Hollywood low-lifes like Michael Lohan. The two names should never appear in the same article.

George Bush is also un-Christian like, as he has admitted to smoking pot, cocaine and is an ex-alcoholic. Hey, wait he also started a war with a with country that had nothing to do with 911. Do you think all the blood he has on his hands is a sin? He sure made a great un-Christian like president! We are in dept to the evil empire- Communist China for how many billions because of Bush? So lets get off Barry Obama, he is a lot better than the disgusting non-Christian hypocrite you elected there PAL!

The fact that Lohan is making a big deal of this says that it was all about him and his daughter all along. Families forgive each other right away (ok most of the time) but that doesn't mean everyone else does. Back off Lohan. Your co-dependent attitude is everything that is wrong with your family. The world owes you nothing.. What happened to your drug treatment center idea? Never mind. I'll bet the Republicans paid Lohan to get her daughter to ask, knowing all along that nobody in their right mind would allow that. He probably got paid and his acting out is just more posing from an untalented family.

I think, if he has a point, perhaps he could wear a hat to cover it. No thanks LiLo, if that's enough for him to get his a$$ up on his shoulder, no wonder she's so F#@ked up. He's an idiot. Why isn't he PO'ed McCain didn't pick her as a VP running mate? LiLo needs to start practicing the lines for her next career "Would you like fries with that?".

Lindsey needs to go on a character building raiser for herself. Why is it that actors think that people actually care about their views and opinions? Barack doesn't need the aid of young substance abusers.

Another chance to try to get Obama's youthful indiscretions into the spotlight, even though he's been honorable and come clean about them...unlike Mr. Cocaine, Mr. Wild and Out of Control Alcoholic, Mr. Air National Guard Unauthorized Absence, Mr Flight Suit Mission Accomplished, Mr. Mislead the American Public and go to War, Mr. I have a VP who'll screw you and your economy with his Closed Door Energy "Policy" meetings (you get the idea)...George W. Bush. Not to mention Mr. "Keating 5," Mr. De-regulator, Mr. Protector of the upper 2% of American Wealth, Mr. I don't know how many houses I own, Mr. 1 million per year is lower class, Mr. "Suddenly I had an epiphany about regulating Wall Street,"...John McCain

lindsay is about two minutes out from her party girl "past" whereas obama is a good quarter century past his, if, indeed, he actually HAD one.
i still think he's faking a "wild" teenagerhood to appeal to the young folks.

It's not Obama that needs to let go of the past, it's the general public. While she is free to do whatever with her time, this election is more than just a game that anyone can get involved in just to improve their image.
It's sad that Lohan had her fair share of problems, some of them by her own making and some made by others. She has to realize what the core of this election is truly about to really be involved. People can be callous and she would have to be very careful not to have the general public ruin her image due to this election.

Oh, please, give me a break. Ms. Lohan and others in h Hollywood land have consistently shown that their troubles, when 'over', are only over until their next arrest. If she had, let's say, 10 years of trouble free time behind her, then, yes, you would have a valid argument against Obama. I'll be willing to bet it won't be too long before she makes headlines again. He is right to refuse her, and what could she be thinking to even make that offer?

This is just going to give the republicans more celebrity fodder. If michael lohan really wants to help Obama, perhaps he should just shut up and not give the republicans more ammo.

This is so ridiculous. The woman disqualified herself as an advocate, not through her past, but through her current political commentary which is not politically correct. If Barack Obama takes her on as his advocate he by definition gives his blessing to her words. I am not saying what she said was wrong, but it was certainly damaging to the campaign if she was in any kind of acknowledged position. Just look at McCain's brilliant and talented advisor Carly Fiorina got him in trouble with a statement that was easily taken out of context and used against the campaign. Nobody would even have to take Lindsay Lohan our of context. Her context was very clear.
