John McCain and Barack Obama fight over... Lindsay Lohan?
The Chicago Sun-Times recently quoted an unnamed high level Barack Obama source as saying that Obama's camp rejected Lindsay Lohan's reported offer to do a fundraiser for him because she "is not exactly the kind of high profile star who would be positive for us."
Now Tucker Bounds, John McCain's campaign spokesman takes the opportunity to stand up for Lindsay, who openly supports Obama.
Kind of.
Bounds spins it this way to TMZ: "So let me get this straight. They turned away Lindsay Lohan but Barack Obama has friends like unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers and convicted felon Tony Rezko? Maybe LiLo is just too upstanding for Barack Obama."
Countering the attack, Obama's spokesman, Tommy Vieto just told TMZ: "Glad to see they're focused on the important issues over in McCain HQ."
Yeah, all of us voters are really glad too. So nice to know that both of these candidates' camps have this much time on their hands.
Isn't there a campaign to run, a country to run and issues to discuss other than who's a celebrity and who's not?
Is this getting ridiculous or what? What do you think?

Well played by the Obama spokesman. I am so sick of McCain/Palin and their completely immaturity in their campainging. We don't need that in office, we don't need these games or the name calling. Stop trying to make Obama look bad and just run your own campaign!!!

Even Obama is smart enough not to get involved with lohan. How was she going to help him? Tell him which rehab has the best services, or try to convince him he's gay this month? She is such an expert. I wish she would just keep quiet, that's the only thing that makes her look good.

As the economy is going down in flames and millions of Americans worry about their home, their job, and their pocketbook John McCain is more concerned with hollywood gossip. Simply pathetic.

here real story
Lindsay Lohan doesn't know anything about the alleged rejection from the Obama campaign, her publicist said on Wednesday.
Chicago Sun-Times reported on its site that the Obama campaign rejected Lindsay's offer to host a series of events aimed at young voters, saying that it wouldn't be "positive" for the campaigns image.
Meanwhile, Lindsay is unaware over such claims.
"This is news to me as she has been invited to attend his events and I wouldn't think that his camp would want to alienate anyone who could offer support," Lindsay's publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik said in emailed comments to IBTimes.

Both of the campaigns are hitting below the belt and neither are focused on the issues. Neither of these candidates are above mud slinging despite what they have previously claimed and anyone who believes otherwise is a dope.

LOL, TUCKER BOUNDS, YOU ARE SO PATHETIC.
He talks to TMZ, but can't answer questions from Campbell Brown regarding Sarah Palin's "commander-in-chief" experience???
Who in McCain camp put this guy in this position??????

I think Lindsay is over-imagining her influence on the election. She's not exactly the kind of "help" the candidates need!

Sarah went against the "Republican" machine in Alaska and won! Obama went along with the "Daily" machine! Also he was a lawyer for "Acorn" which has and is involved in VOTER FRAUD! Obama is a Low Life piece of crap. Thank You.

Will someone in the press please ask Palin what her grade point averages were at Idaho State University and the myriad other schools she attended while attempting to earn her degree in "journalism?" We heard they were mediocre...actually lower than McCain's 5th-from-the-bottom of his class at Annapolis of 899 students. And since one of Palin's issues is education, we are curious what the level of excellence of her own education meant to her?

Obama is a hypocrite, and a sexist pig.

As a Chicagoan, I find the Sun-Times' treatment of Obama this election cycle disgusting. I guess they figure this is their big chance to make a name for themselves now that they have a hometown figure in the national spotlight. Great investigative reporting, Sun-Times--glad to know you have the same editorial standards as US Weekly.

Lindsey really has that "look" - that trailer trash look.
Of course no one does it better than Britney!!
Hussein Obama takes the high road again -
Ayers =yes
Rezko = yes
Wright = yes
Lindsey =no

The McCain Campaign motto: *Anything but issues, or policies.*
If only 3rd-graders could vote, McCain would be way ahead in polls.

"They turned away Lindsay Lohan, but Barack Obama has friends like unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko?" --- I guess Lindsay Lohan should start having friends like them & then Barack Obama will be all over her !!!!!!!
HOW LOW CAN YOU GO BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA????

If only I were a socialist (Look it up) I could vote for obama... Our country should not be run by the person with the best GPA, but the people who make up the country. I work to hard to afford to have Obama in office. Sorry.

Regarding her political views,I disagree with Lindsay
about sodomy and baby killing. I also don't think
she should publicly be bashing her father.
However she has every right to voice her opinions.
She has had a lot of hardships in her young life
and is trying her best. She deserves our respect.
Nasty name-calling is just immature.
If she is as bad as some people think
then they should pray for her.

No one with a brain
would vote for McCain,
and only if you're ailin'
can you like Sarah Palin.

Obama is an affirmative action candidate, like most, he is not qualifed for the job. He's been running against the GOP VP candidate for weeks and losing because she is more qualified. But, not to worry, as far as democrates and blacks are concerned, qualifications don't matter when you are right color.

Tucker Bounds is a nitwit! Let's please focus back on the important issues, and stop distracting the elections with silly nonsense!
