Will Rob Pattinson like 'Twilight'-inspired black lip gloss?

Just in time for the "Twilight" vampire mania, and for fall, top cosmetic companies are introducing goth black lip gloss.

Lancome's dark gloss is due out in November, which is also when "Twilight" opens. Their gloss is called Piha Black, meant to be worn over their cherry red Piha Red. The set is already on preorder at lancome.com or exclusively at Bloomies.

And now Yves St. Laurent's also coming out with a black lip gloss called Pur Black. However, it's already marked out of stock on the YSL website.

Have "Twilight" legions of fans already snatched up this stuff?

Edward Cullen would totally approve. So would Bella Swan.

What's next? How about "Twilight"-inspired foundation to give you that deathly pale undead skin? Perhaps eye cream for those seductive dark circles? Maybe contact lenses that can turn your eyes from gold to hungry-and-hunting black?

Some would say it's just a coincidence that so many deep forest hues are in vogue for fall fashion, including moss green, dark brown, aged rust and ominous black. No, there are darker forces at work here.

No, I don't think that the sudden black lip gloss releases have anything to do with Twilight. Twilight may feature vampires, but that Twilight became unique in the fact that Stephenie DIDN'T portray her vampires in the cliche Gothic fashion!

Just because Twilight is about vampires does not mean its gothic. The whole appeal and unique thing about Twilight is that Stephenie Meyer portrays vampires as anything but. Not to say that there aren't gothic twilight fans out there but whatever.

erm... can i just point out that very few twilight fans wear blacj lip gloss or dress in a way affected by the book/film in any way.
i think the person who wrote this article kind of missed the point of twilight a little bit. they are NOT goth vampires with the whole black lipgloss thing. they are insanely beautiful, pale, have colour changing eyes and sparkle in the sun.
i think that anyone who was trying to look like a twilight vampire would have serious issues with fulfilling three of these criteria, therefore it would be a bit of a waste of time!!!

ok, i'm not a make-up artist but I am an artist and isn't lip gloss translucent? If it were Opaque it would be lip stick correct? So as an artist applying translucent black over red usually will give you a plum color (red & blackish blue = purple) Anyway where can I sign up for a taste test with Hot Rob!!

the vampires in "Twilight" are definitely not your garden variety gothic horror blood suckers with pointy hair lines, long flowing capes and black lips..

but i'd be very surprised if at some point in the film, there's not a pair of lips (or two) with some dark blood smeared on or dripping off them..

The average Twilight-reader probably can't even afford to buy Lancome or YSL lip gloss. This is probably just some trend within the fashion industry.

k so twilight lipgloss is a bit pushing it. although it does not turn your lips completely black. It looks way better than that when its combined with the piha red. Which is how it's meant to be worn. so it's not as ugly looking as it sounds. just click on the link at the top to see it. Although, i don't think people should be getting this lipgloss just because they are twilight fans. They should get it because they truly like it.
