Paul Newman tells loved ones he wants to die at home
You're gonna need it.
According to new reports, actor Paul Newman has weeks to live and has told his family that he wants to die at home.
Newman has finished chemotherapy treatment for cancer and was photographed leaving a New York hospital in a wheelchair. He looks predictably frail and fragile. Click here to see the photo.
"Paul didn't want to die in the hospital," a source has said.
Newman has made only one public statement about his condition: that he is doing "nicely."
Which speaks volumes about this amazing and private man.
We're hoping for more word today on Newman's condition from his spokesman, Jeff Sanderson at Warren Cowan and Associates in Los Angeles.
Photo: Paul Newman and pal Bob Redford in October 2004. To us, they'll always be Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Very sad, but he's lived a full life. I hope he stays happy and comfortable.

Now that is truly sad, but as another commenter noted, he's had a good, long, full life, and you can't ask for better than that. A great actor, a class act, and still the best-looking guy in Hollywood.

Paul Newman is a icon. Watch any of his old movies and the current crop of male leads can't hold a candle to him.

Not Paul Newman! The ranks of the 'old greats' are thinning fast. I always thought that Paul would be 'forever'. It is very sad.

My prayers go out to him and his family. What a wonderful actor and so proud that he has stayed with the same wife for so many years. In Hollywood there aren't too many actors or actresses of his caliber, he and his wife are the best.

As I have said in my blog, it's difficult to imagine the world without Mr. Newman. I am hoping for a miracle, for no one deserves it more than he: a great actor, director, personality, and humanitarian. My love and prayers go out to you and your family.
