Christina Applegate diagnosed with breast cancer

Christina Applegate

Christina Applegate, the 36-year-old Emmy-nominated star and producer of "Samantha Who?," is reportedly undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

An announcement confirming the diagnosis was delivered by a representative of the actress late Saturday on "Extra," the celebrity news show:

"Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery."

Applegate's rep confirmed to E! News that the actress intends to maintain her planned shooting schedule on "Samantha Who?" while undergoing treatment.

Perhaps best known for her long run as Kelly Bundy in "Married With Children," it would be an understatement to suggest that Applegate has had a challenging summer. Last month, Applegate's on-again, off-again ex-boyfriend Lee Grivas was found dead in his apartment by a neighbor.

Applegate is booked to appear with Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron and others on the Stand Up to Cancer telethon scheduled to air concurrently on ABC, CBS and NBC on Sept. 5 at 8PM.

The Envelope talked with Applegate about her work on "Samantha Who?" and "Anchorman" and her turn on Broadway in "Sweet Charity" earlier this year. At the time, the actress stressed the importance of maintaining a sense of humor about her work.

When you approach a comedic character, do you try to make her fun or keep her in reality?

Trying to make it funny, you'll fail entirely. For me, and really for anyone who does this, you have to approach this as if you are doing Chekhov. You have to ask all the same questions as if you were doing anything else, but then you kind of have to step back and do -- what I always say -- "twinkle above it," which is just lightening it up a little bit, just take it a step out of reality, and know that people are just funny.

In fact, I can't take [any project] unless it has a sense of humor about itself. Any show or movie, regardless of what it is, if it takes itself too seriously I have a hard time kind of getting into it. You look at Meryl Streep -- she's so brilliant, but if you really look at it, she doesn't take herself seriously. She has this element about her. That is why she's the master of what she does.

God Bless her!

Christina Applegate came to Wlliamsburg Brooklyn, circa 1994. This was to film a movie about Raves, the now forgotten, rent a building, part on x, etc. phenomenon.Point being. She wa a rude, arrogant person. Complained the entire time about the neighborhood. My old, swet, late dog walked up just to say ''hey"in the way dogs do. She made a scene of it, how disgusting the dog was etc. That is one spoiled, no talent person. She had mad acne a bad red dyeye job, and putrid persona.

Christina is an outstanding actress.
I will pray for her speedy recovery.

most so called breast cancers are calcium deposits and these can be dissolved.hpv can cause it but ellagic acid from raspberries cures that.also a herpes varity can also cause it but monolaurin cures that.viruses play a role in most cancers.they can be treated.

Chances are she will make a full recovery, because of the way physicians are treating cancer today.
She is young and cancer usually strikes older women, this is a concern, because it may happen again at a later date.

I pray for your speedy recovery ... Stay Positive

Hope you follow your treatment and are cured.

poor child. we will pray for her.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I too was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 36. I will be 44 in October.

Calcium deposits, eh steve? I'll make sure to mention that next time I visit the doctor. They should probably be aware of these things. Who knew?!

Anyway, here's hoping she does well. Sounds like she'll be fine.

So she deserves cancer because she was RUDE ABOUT YOUR DOG 14 YEARS AGO?

Seriously?

I have always been an animal lover. What I can't stand is people who think everyone loves their pets as much as they do, and do not keep them under control.

I would wish cancer on ANYONE. Even when the prognosis is good it is a terrifying diagnosis.

i have just been diagnosised with early stage breast cancer
i am 46 and history only of grandmother
it is very scary
i wish christina the very best and a full recovery
god bless found early
these are blessing
early detection

Cancer is not a disease found in specific tissues
What do I mean by "still metabolizing cancer?"

Cancer is not defined by a physical tumor. Cancer is a systemic failure of the immune system and cellular communication. You can remove a tumor from one area of the body, but unless you eliminate the underlying causes of cancer, tumors will likely reappear somewhere else.

Thus, by surgically removing Christina Applegate's breasts, cancer surgeons have misled her into thinking she's cured, when in reality, she now has the exact same risk of cancer coming back as she did before the surgery.

In other words: She gave up both breasts and still didn't cure her cancer!

Such is the "treatment" offered by the fraudulent cancer industry.

Even more, Applegate probably didn't know that mammography causes breast cancer! (Mammogram machines emit dangerous levels of radiation, causing DNA damage.) In a press interview, Applegate readily admitted she had been having mammograms since she was age 30, but she did not make any statements realizing that mammography may have, indeed, caused her breast cancer in the first place!

Mammograms harm nine women for every one they help, according to published research, and no woman under 40 should receive regular mammograms at all! What Applegate -- and all women concerned about breast cancer -- really need is an upgrade in their daily habits to create a cancer-free lifestyle. Specifically, they need What Applegate (and all women concerned about breast cancer) really needed to do is upgrade her daily habits to a cancer-free lifestyle. Specifically, they need:

• Lots of vitamin D and natural sunshine.
• Regular exercise.
• Daily intake of anti-cancer foods (sprouts, raw cruciferous vegetable juice, etc.)
• Daily intake of superfoods (berries, garlic, turmeric, cacao, goji berries, etc.)
• Daily intake of anti-cancer herbs (Cat's Claw, green tea, etc.)
• Daily intake of additional anti-cancer supplements (pomegranate, zinc, resveratrol, etc.)
• Complete avoidance of toxic chemicals in personal care products (shampoo, cosmetics, skin lotions, etc.)Is Applegate courageous? Yes, but also uninformed
Many women in America today look at Applegate and consider her courageous for making such a decision. She is, indeed, quite courageous. Allowing surgeons to physically maim your body in a desperate attempt to save your own life takes real courage. Applegate is to be commended for that attribute, at least.

But at the same time, Applegate is sadly misinformed, and she has now permanently damaged her body and yet achieved no lasting safety from cancer.

Of course, if she starts taking anti-cancer herbs right now, she can easily prevent cancer for the rest of her life. Preventing cancer is simple and straightforward: It only requires daily exposure to the right nutrients (phytonutrients, vitamin D, etc.) and protection from exposure to cancer-causing chemicals -- especially endocrine disruptors like cow's milk, conventional meats, plastics, pharmaceuticals and food additive chemicals.

I can tell you right now with near-certainty that Applegate is vitamin D deficient. This is what allowed her cancer to grow to the point where it was large enough to be diagnosed. Sufficient levels of Vitamin D in your blood prevent 77% of ALL cancers. That's correct: One nutrient prevents 77% of all cancers. Yet I'd be willing to bet a substantial sum of money that Applegate's doctors never even told her about this simple, powerful anti-cancer nutrient that she could get for free! (Cancer doctors don't make money teaching nutrition to their patients. They only make money when their patients stay cancerous...)

Cancer doctors, you see, are really in the business of keeping patients ignorant and uneducated, corralling them into barbaric treatments that benefit themselves, not their patients. While Applegate has now lost both breasts and undergone an extremely painful, barbaric surgical procedure, her cancer doctors have collected enormous sums of cash that they charged her. The doctors walk home rich, but women walk home maimed and still susceptible to recurring cancer. Is that really the best modern medicine can offer? The answer is yet! -- if you limit yourself to drugs and surgery. To get something better, you have to turn to advanced natural medicine, where anti-cancer nutrients are found everywhere in foods, herbs and nature.

Even if the breasts are no longer present, cancer will find other tissues in which to express itself: Ovaries, skin, liver, bones, brain, etc. You don't cure cancer by removing organs. You cure cancer by nourishing and detoxifying the body.

In ten years or so, Applegate will no doubt realize her mistake. And perhaps in twenty years, there may be medical technology advanced enough to re-grow her breasts. But I wouldn't bet on it.

And I certainly wouldn't bet my life on it.

Personally, I think some of you people are a tad on the harsh side regarding breast cancer in general. Christina is a VERY talented actress yes, and it is sad that she or anyone has to go through that. Herbal, vitamins, comments regarding a dog.... whatever some of you want to "think" is the cure, or y she had it, she did what was advised by professional medical doctors !!!! So lets just wish her well & a full recovery !!!! U GO CHRISTINA !!!! God Bless

She stole the role of Kelly Bundy on Married With Children from Tina Caspary. How rude! However, I do not agree that she deservs this desease. Noone deservs it.
