Britney Spears looks - and sounds - amazing in OK!

Britney Spears got raves this week for her promo (with her VMA co-host Russell Brand) for the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards (with -- ahem -- an amusing elephant in the room to symbolize her disasterous, stumbling, lingerie-clad comeback on last year's show).

Now she's followed up that home-run with another out-of-the-ballpark hit: her OK! magazine cover (with her adorable boys Sean Preston and Jayden James). And what a change from last year, when a distracted and distraught Britney Spears walked out during an OK! mag cover shoot. Her coherent interview in the magazine due out this week sure makes it sound like she's back for good and better than ever.

Here's excerpts from her OK! interview:

On her sons not going into show business: I’d love them unconditionally if they wanted to. I’d just as soon they have a more normal childhood.

On sister Jamie Lynn Spears' pregnancy: I was shocked a little bit. She’s always been the baby, and now the baby was having a baby. It was mind-boggling. I’m sure the boys will be like big brothers to Maddie.

On her new album: I think it is more urban. I’m writing every day, right here at the piano in this living room… This is my best work ever.

Is the new-and-improved Britney for real? Her refreshed, well-rested appearance and normal behavior are such a stark contrast to her recent past crazy days. Let's see, what's the missing ingredient here?

Oh yeah, Sam Lutfi. The guy Jamie Spears doesn't want anywhere near her little girl!

One can't help but wonder if that Lutfi character was totally gaslighting Britney. What do you think?

I am 46 and in Ireland and have loved since the first baby one more time viewing, i always deend her and kew she would be fine, life is cuel and tough and she had it tougher than most. Yahoo for you Britney, yu are a phenomenon and everybody is rooting for you.

Sorry, but who's writing this script? Knock her down, build her up. Seems greatly improved, but she doesn't look and act quite as amazing as some would like us to believe. I think she should take more time off, as well as a few pounds before she attempts another "comeback."

I agree. I thought that Lufti was gaslighting her. He isolated her, made himself out to be her closest friend and ws setting her up by siccing the photogs on her to show her at her worst. I hope she continues to do well and that her father stays involved.
