Amanda Beard vs. Lily Donaldson: Who'll win Michael Phelps' heart?

Beijing's eight-time gold medalist, U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps, has been romantically linked with two beautiful women. Lucky dog.

One is top U.S. swimmer Amanda Beard. The other is British supermodel Lily Donaldson, whom he reportedly met on a photo shoot.

On the surface, Michael has more in common with Beard, who held the Olympic record for women's 200 meters breaststroke after winning in Athens. But she didn't make the finals in Beijing. And she's also done some modeling. She went starkers for an PETA anti-fur ad (click here!) and she's also posed nude for Playboy.

But 21-year-old Donaldson is one of the world's top fashion models. She's replaced Kate Moss as one of the faces of Burberry and also models for Gucci and the Gap. For starters, she's absolutely stunning. And to finish it off, she's a supermodel. Then there's that accent ...

Who will win Phelps' gold medal?

I'm predicting the supermodel will win the first heat. Although Beard does have home court advantage.

I guess we'll know the winner if Lily models in the upcoming New York fashion shows in September and Michael Phelps is plopped in the front row, next to Vogue editrix Anna Wintour.

Hands down I believe he should bond with the the he loves. In my opinion love would be difficult with a woman with the background of Lily vs. the background of Amanda. the question then is who would be the better match for Michael. Michael, although a multi-millionaire he seems to be a simple, easy going person, and I don't see him in in the super-model world. It is Amanda.

Well I doubt it will be Amanda Beard. She bashed him on the Johnjay and Rich Morning Show. They asked her about it and she said "Eww! No that is disgusting" and she also said that Michael is "not her type." because " She likes attractive people." (its on tmz.com they have to audio clip.)

I am outraged by Amanda's comments....I went to her official website and found where she wrote this in Oct., 2007 "to those few who cannot seem to find anything nice to say I say this, never talk badly about someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes, you might just find they've worked harder to get where they are in life than you thought. First, did anyone actually listen to the interview or did pretty much everyone including the media just hear a sound-byte or read one or two sentences that someone else printed? The majority of the interview was obviously in jest and Amanda apologized for any misunderstanding right away. Second, does anyone here or in the media personally know Michael Phelps? Did anyone stop to think that Amanda Beard definitely does and if she had said seriously that Michael is nasty, despite the fact that he has a ridiculous amount of medals, there's probably a lot more truth to her opinion of him than that of his fans' who watch him on TV and read about him in magazines. DUH, DUH, DUH SHEEPLE. Even the media gets only a groomed image of Michael that's been cultivated and crafted by his agent and publicist. USE YOUR OWN BRAIN. His private life is most likely much less golden than his public image and everyone that wants to know the inside info, especially the media, are stupidly slamming a perfect source of inside info. Yes, I mean Amanda. They've been swimming together for years. I bet she knows exactly who his girlfriend is and who he's cheated on her with at trials and during the games.
