Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are (big surprise!) freeloaders

Spencerpratt___heidimontagSpencer Pratt and Heidi Montag were among the handful of celebrities attending last night's Race to Erase MS fundraiser on trendy Melrose Place.

"The Hills" reality TV stars were handed -- and posed for photos with -- the special orange shopping card that gives a 20% discount to stores like Carolina Herrera, Diane von Furstenberg, Diesel,  Santa Maria Novella, salons like Frederic Fekkai, and restaurants Republic, Jumo, comme Ca, and Dolce.

The card - had Spencer and Heidi paid for it like regular folks - cost $75, which was a donation to fight MS via the Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis. All the attending celebs - including big names Jon Lovitz and Tom Arnold - were carrying the card, which is valid until July 25.

When asked by L.A. Daily News columnist Joel Stratte-McClure (who just  happens to be my husband, which is why I got this scoop from his report) if they'd paid for the card, thereby making a $75 donation to fight MS, Pratt admitted that they hadn't.

"But we are going to do some shopping with it," he countered, adding, " I have no budget when it comes to charity."

When he was told that none of the money he planned to spend at the stores, restaurants or salons would go to the charity, he looked visibly relieved.

"I didn't know that! Dude, you just saved me a lot of money!" Pratt said with a big grin.

Did I happen to mention that Pratt and Montag don't set foot on a red carpet or attend parties or events without being paid. According to InTouch, the blond twins have earned about $3 mill in the last two years from their TV salaries, business deals and appearance fees at clubs, parties and charity events.

But at least they earned their money last night. After all, we are running this photo of them with the orange card. And I might not have run a photo of Tom Arnold or Jon Lovitz.

In fact, I'm quite sure I wouldn't have.

why is this guy spencer pratt on tv, did he go to acting school? sure does a good job acting worse than a child, I have never seen anyone on tv acting so selfish, so if this is for real and he has no acting experience GET HIM OFF HE IS A LOOSER does this guy have a job? or is he living off of daddys money, at his age sitting home plating arcade games my grandson who is 9 plays those games and has more responsiability then Pratt, I just can not understand why he is getting paid to be on the hills, I am sure our real actors in this world who have worked hard to get where they are get sick when they watch this grown up selfish thing!! his parents did not do a good job raising him, he does not even know how to treat his own girlfriends sister as a guest, this show would be much better without him, everytime he comes on I change the channel I can not stomouch a grown up selfish person, anyone that selfish, should be put in a school and learn what it is like to be an american, could you see this dude in the military? maybe that is where he should be, he'd get a good wake up call, I never make negitive comments about anyone, but this guy is a disgrace to human life

If you aren't trying to help him or care about him.
Why are you being so angry towards him?
What is he really doing wrong?
He can't help it if his parents didn't give him a lot of responsiblity.
I know about being spoiled and having a tough time in the real world. Im the same way. Minus the millions of dollars for showing up at clubs.
I feel for him, I don't hate him or bash him, what's the point.
He could BE if he found Scientology help himself out a lot.
He's an able being who's been disabled probably by his parents... not his fault, but he could easily put his attention to some good use.. give this guy a break!
