Ludacris bumps Barack Obama, blasts John McCain! What a surprise...
Grammy-winning rapper Ludacris' new song is called "Politics: Obama Is Here."
In the tune, he tears down Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Sen. John McCain.
But he gives props to Sen. Barack Obama, whom he asks to make him his vice president or give him "a special pardon if I'm ever in the slammer."
According to CBS News, Ludacris, who has previously railed against Fox News' Bill O'Reilly and Oprah Winfrey (huh?), uses irreverent language in the rap song and encourages black Americans to propel Obama to victory and "paint the White House black."
The rapper saves some of his harshest critiques for McCain: "McCain don't belong in any chair unless he's paralyzed."
Wow. Thanks a pantload, Ludacris. I'm sure Obama's camp is just thrilled by your support and your divisive and offensive song. Just what his presidential campaign needed.
Naturally, the Obama folks are already slamming the Ludacris song. Listen to it HERE.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton says: "As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to. This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual, he should be ashamed of these lyrics."
Anyone second that emotion?
Photo: Ludacris in concert this year. VP slot? Oh, I don't think so. But thanks for asking, Lude.

Ludacris needs to apoligize for calling Mrs Clinton the B-word.his attack on McCain was offensive as well.I support Obama. But appreciate McCain's sacrifice and being a war hero.I see why Oprah doesnt want anything to do with Ludacris

This surprises who? Hollywood has dripped with hatred of Bush and republicans in general.
But how much of these peoples money is funding the Obama campaign?
If there was a white singers who did a song anything like the one Ludacris did, there would be protest marchs in the street, calls for the singer to be dropped by his record label and maybe even a senate hearing!
Don Imus was fired for this sort of thing. I do not see Ludacris being let go by his record label. I do not see Al Sharpton demanding he be let go.
Obama even called for Don Imus to be fired. Why isn't Ludacris getting any of this treatment?
Double standards!

Yeap what else do you expect from a man who has a song with the lyrics move b... get out the way move.. b get out the way. Luda could have done the intelligent thing and stated why he supports Obama instead of calling Hillary a b.... but I guess he doesnt know how to get a point across without beign vile. Luda another disrespectful Obama supporter.

Ludacris is definitely living up to his name. It is only a matter ot time. The more Americans find out about Obama and his policies, the lower his numbers will fall, and all the Ludacris' in the world will not help him.

You can slam that lier McShame and his crew all you want. They deserve it. They are the lowest of the low.

Elizabeth Snead's rag alright.. could this article be any more surly? I'm glad musicians are communicating their political stance to listeners/potential voters and exercising their right to freedom of speech. I find it strange that I can name hundreds of creatives, intellects, musicians, and actors who have been so inspired to speak out against the current corrupt administration and to promote a fundamental change-- but I can't really think of anyone who is for McCain or Bush.
Posted by: McCain? WHY? Because you think he's a Christian? I'd say I was a Christian to become president too. | July 30, 2008 at 03:33 PM
What scum...and to think the children of our country may actually be listening to his crap. "paint the white house black,..." seriously, is that all he can come up with. Everyday it is more and more about race then what is actually good for the country. Race only comes up when someone is playing the poor us card. If Obama was smart he would rebuke this type of crap.

Ludacris coined his name from "ludicrous," which refers to "absurdity, provoking or deserving derision, ridiculous, laughable." As much as I like him as an artist, his lyrics have, except in the case of Bill O'Reilly, been spurious. His present lyrics should not be a surprise...it is from Ludacris de Ludicrous. Simply silly!

I do not feel the song is as harsh as it is being protrayed. It is his feelings, just like Jesse spoke his. The problem is that Luda, spoke out loud what others think, but just are afraid to speak.

Wow, Ludacris just lost a listener. What a joke this guy is including Nas. Let's just vote for barack cause he's a black man. How desperate are you to get a black man elected. It doesnt matter what he believes in as long as he's black we should all vote for him. Ladacris, go waste your time doing something else like drinking some yak or get you a 40 and leave the voting to us with a rational brain. Idiot.

Hmmm.
I wonder if Ludacris actually cares what you (or any of the others you've mentioned) actually think of him, his talent(s) or this song?

this motion is completely undersireable, unitelligent, and creates barriers to the obamas campaign.unintentional as the artist might want to be the consequences of this act will cast doubt and many i told you so,es.in my opinon the exact opposite of any meaningful advocacy,i also believe the mc cain,s people are greatful for this shocking performance shame on u ludacris.

I read the lyrics and I personally do not believe the hype is called for. He used a couple of words that I wouldn't have, but I think all of the comments on this song has basically made a hit of a mediocre song. It is plainly Ludacris telling his own story about the political scene. It's anyone's right to do so.

what i would like to know is why would ANYONE gives crap what this moron thinks..... he certainly isnt a politiacl scholar. and as to the level of education he has .. well I dont think he has much university time under his belt (though I could be wrong.. but I doubt it).... so if anyone bases thier voting choices on what this idiot says and thinks they get what they deserve ... absolutely NOTHING... except higher taxes, lost jobs and a president that has NO experiance in anything except reciting speeches that were written for him.
use your brains people, dont rely on some uneducated, biased crap star... sorry I meant rap star.

That's right, Ludacris in the Obama camp. Don't you folks feel special knowing that you support the same candidate as this genuis. I guess he does make more money than I....just goes to show ya what our terribly "opressed" world had come to. Folks like this earning millions...damn right we need change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Eric | July 30, 2008 at 04:05 PM
The name Ludacris fits this moron perfectly. He even asks for a future pardon because he may be inclined to do criminal acts. What a jackass and what an endorsement, but then he probably would vote for domestic terrorist Wiliam Ayers to be Obama's running mate since they are friends. Remember this, Ludacris or anyone else who likes Obama - a man who has ties to a terrorist - in the future, do you or your offspring thing you'll be able to do the things you do now if the country is determined by Sharia law? Absolutely not. Most likely, you would have your head sawed off by these terrorists. So go ahead, vote for Obama and see what will happen in the future.

What is Ludacris is this story and the stupidity of this paper.
Posted by: joseph marcucilli | July 30, 2008 at 04:10 PM
Even though Obama and his campaign see it as divisive......Ludacris has a built in audience that will probably be more involved in getting Obama in the White House.....
It might not be the most positive message, but its powerfull nonetheless......
also, all the critisizm, bad news and mud slinging that McCain has done haven't stuck and are not affecting him.....so rap on Ludacris and whoever wants to

These are the kinds of morons that will be sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom. You Obama supporters are a bunch of idiots.

Free speech = good.
Posted by: Matt | July 30, 2008 at 04:15 PM
obama is really into ludacris' music - he has bragged about it before. obama loves the degrading offensive themes, except for when he gives speeches - then he pretends he's the messiah. maybe ludacris and obama can change the name to "The Black House" together, and spray paint profanity all over it.
Posted by: Dude | July 30, 2008 at 04:16 PM
I'm sure that Obama will distance himself from this jerk. Pretty soon Obama won't have anyone left to invite to parties.
