'Dark Knight' Christian Bale releases statement about assault charges
Attorneys representing "The Dark Knight" star Christian Bale have released a statement on their client's arrest Tuesday morning for assault charges.
"Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister.
"Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police.
"At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale."
So unless mum and sis are talking, we may never know what this was all about.
Bale is a notoriously private actor, and I'm betting this mystery will never be fully solved.
Families are complicated, sibling relationships are tricky and childhood stuff never really goes away. Just ask Bruce Wayne.

My guess: Greedy mum and sis asked for money and got shoveled out the door by Christian. In an attempt to squeeze the money, they report them being assisted roughly out of the hotel room to the police.

I mean really, who cares?
Why do these writers think it is their business or ours? Does this guy actually get paid to write?

Perhaps Christian needs Alfred to give him advice from time to time. Take a deep breath, imagine where you want to be tomorrow, and if need be, walk out the door to avoid anything more than a row.Peace to your soul, sir.

Actors and actresses are natural targets . There are lots of "aggrieved"people out there looking for someone to harass, attack, legislate against and dump on.
Courts and police should take special training for this phenomena.

That should help with the second week's BO numbers...

I think we all have issues with our family Bruce. Don't let it get you down Batman. Continue to fight crime, I guess there is a reason that Batman likes to work alone. NOone can hurt you but yourself. :)

They have to report on this non-news, otherwise they would have to report that the world is going to hell in a handbasket and their corporate overlords won't allow that.

My guess is, judging from the comments submitted so far, that he realized he was in the land of true misogyny and could get away with assaulting women, where any complaint could merely be explained away by BLAMING THE VICTIMS!!! This is the number one sign of misogyny. Wise up, fools.

This guy is accused of attacking his mom and you idiots defend him. LMAO!!

I think the Joker put them up to it ... or maybe it was Harvey pulling some strings ...

Two words: Publicity Stunt

family extortion happens all the time -- it only makes the news when it affects a celebrity like bale

I don't give a flying crap about Christian Bale.

Wow, I'm a Christian Bale fan, but the misogyny displayed on this message board is shocking. I'm betting his sister and mother are not loons. It must have been something serious for them to have gone to the police at such a time. He has 3 sisters, a wife and a daughter. I'm really hoping he himself is innocent of this, but no need to attack his family.

Chris;
Hire some security, give them pictures of Mom and Sis, and establish those "clearly needed" boundaries.
Does your Mom and Sister live in England? If not, who picked up the tab for them to be there?

He should have shown them how to make a pencil disappear.

Let's not forget he was a child actor who had a lead starring role in a Speilburg film at 12 years old. Child actors usually have issues. And if you star is a Spielberg film (or join Scientology), you become famous.

If his family is anything like Matt Lauer in the Today Show interview last week, I'd belt them for treating me like just another famous cardboard cutout. Bale seems to be a bright, authentic young man that is acting for all the right reasons and the publicity work on this movie has got to have gotten the best of his normally evenhanded nature. Good for him for having created a new family that he can enjoy unconditionally.

How many misogyny victims does it take to change an over paid pretty boy? One, if she knows whats good for her!

Marie, your "guess" isn't worth any more than the bigoted rant posted by "tyrone". You have no idea what took place, you were not there, and you have never met any of the involved parties. This is a matter for the police to sort out, not anyone reading articles on the internet.
