'Dark Knight': Angelina Jolie as Catwoman? And for Batgirl, who else?

If, as Geoff Boucher suggests, a slinky, sinewy Angelina Jolie would be the "purrfect" Catwoman for "The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan to cast when he follows up his recent Batman success, how about also casting a formidable opponent for Jolie?

That's right. Jennifer Aniston as Batgirl!

Who'd win?

Catwoman, of course. She'd scratch Batgirl's eyes out and make her eat kitty litter.

But what fun for audiences (Team Jolie and Team Aniston) to watch!

Any other casting ideas for some future villainesses or Batman allies?

I think Angie would be fan as catwoman, although, Michelle phieffer was the best as the kinky kitty. As for batgirl, Jennifer anuston would just about be the worst choice to play the part. I loved Alicia silverstone as Barbara. Ali larter would be a good option, but might be too old to play a "girl".

Since when, would Jennifer ever be considered for an Action roll.. She has had what one in her career. Even if Jennifer were much younger, I don't believe she could sucessfully play a part in any action movie that took a great deal of physical activity. She may be America's little sweetheart, but all of her roles are romatic comedy, and she actually projects the same charecter in each movie.

For Nolan's Batman series they shouldn't even -have- a Batgirl---because if they really plan to follow some of the original Batman plots, Batgirl was Gordon's daughter, and as many can tell from this recent addition, she is waaayyyyy too young to become Batgirl unless they decided to fast forward a decade or so. And no Robin, either. He's annoying and just a pothole in Batman's way unless there is suppose to be comic relief. Nolan is bringing back the dark to this comic, no place for useless comedic relief.

As for Catwoman, they should definitely find a woman around Bale's age, but one who can pull off the -real- Catwoman. Halle Berry's "Catwoman" was NOT Catwoman---there never was a Catwoman without Batman, I don't care if you can come up with some tragic beginnings for her or not---that's not the true, original Catwoman. Angelina won't do, she's too old and Catwoman needs to be played by more than just a pretty face.

Granted, Batman is a very big Blockbuster type of movie,
BUT, I don't thing it needs a big SUPERSTAR cast.

Someone said Angelina is too old for Christian Bale's Batman...um, Bale is older than Jolie (a year older). Angelina is hott and in good shape, an Oscar winner, and definitely has the calm darkness to play Catwoman. Undoubtedly a top candidate to play Selina Kyle/Catwoman --- if the Dark Knight team goes that route.

They're not going to do Batgirl. I'm pretty sure the launch message for this thread was a joke anyway. Robin is possible. I think people associate Robin with the campy series from the 60s and the kitschy Schumacher movies of the 90s and then conclude Robin was part of the problem. But I think "Batman: the Animated Series" showed that Batman can have a sidekick and a dark tone could be maintained. I'm not sure who could play Robin and for other reasons I don't think Nolan will include the character.

I'd like to see Harley Quinn done in a dark and gritty movie, but she has to be with the Joker. They'd have to recast. If I had to choose someone to be the new Joker, I'd go with Ben Foster. Along with Heath Ledger, Foster is part of a new wave of young actors who can totally transform themselves from role to role. He'd do great as Joker. For Harley Quinn, I'd go with Brittany Murphy.

Other possible characters and the actors who could portrary them:

Riddler: Johnny Depp, Jude Law, or David Tennant .

Penguin: Phillip Seymour-Hoffman

Black Mask (who'd really fit in with Nolan's Batman): Daniel Day Lewis

Talia al Ghul: Megan Fox
