Angelina Jolie gives birth to twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline
The Brangelina twins have arrived!
The obstetrician who delivered the twins, Dr. Michel Sussmann, told the Associated Press that Angelina Jolie, the babies and their father, Brad Pitt, "are doing marvelously well."
But what would an Angelina birth be without controversy and erroneous reports?
First InTouch reported Saturday afternoon that sources at La Fondation Lenval Hospital in Nice, France, said Jolie had given birth to twin girls. They said Angie delivered by cesarean on Saturday at 6 p.m. and had two girls, one born at 6:45, the other at 7.
But -- and it was a pretty big but -- Extra reported that the twins had not been born. They quoted hospital spokeswoman Nadine Bauer as saying that the InTouch report was "false information."
The spokeswoman insisted that journalists would not be notified "within minutes after the birth" and that the only way they would be told was by a press release posted on the hospital website.
Then Us Weekly said that French newspaper Nice-Matin had reported that Jolie had delivered a boy named Knox Leon and a girl named Vivienne Marcheline, according to the AFP. They said Jolie gave birth shortly before 8 p.m. via cesarean section.
According to US, each twin weighed about 5 pounds. Reps for Jolie, Pitt and the hospital did not confirm the birth of the boy and girl. But the doctor has.
So, finally, congrats to the expanding Jolie-Pitt nation.

This has no importance whatsoever. What absolute drivel
News consists of events important to the quality of peoples lives....
This is irrelevant.

Welcome Viv and Knox! With their Suns in Cancer and their Moons inScorpio, these two twins will be brooding hot, hot, hot! I did their astrological charts and they are destined to live at the top of Status Mountain. (Duh, not that we needed astrology to tell us that!) Crabby Golightly.com

They sure know how to pick some ugly names.

Congratulations on the twins, I agree with the others though, not liking those names to well, but to each his own.
I hope you are finished having kids after these two, you have 6 kids who will now be raised by a nanny while you and Brad are off making movies. You should stay home with your children they grow up way too fast and you and Brad are going to be missing out on too much, take a break from the glamour life for awhile and enjoy the kids!

I knew these were not going to be identical twins, and that it would be boy/girl, maybe boy/boy, definitely NOT 2 girls. I get a creepy feeling about Hollywood these days.

Sonia-
Unfortunately, due to the inappropriate use of medical technology and low-touch birth practices, the US has one of the worst infant mortality rates in the developed world. Perhaps that's why they chose to birth their babies out of the country.

Um... they used state-of-the-art US technology, (as well as a US trained and practicing MD) both for the French births AND the African one.
What other US quietly-peddled technology was employed is what's creepy about a lot of HW births these days. Did anyone else feel certain these twins would NOT be identical?
