Ruslana Korshunova's Web posts may explain why supermodel jumped
What made the model known as the "Russian Rapunzel" jump out of a window this weekend?
It's a tragic mystery. The shocking death of the beautiful model has left many wondering what might have made Ruslana Korshunova, 20, fall to her death from her Manhattan apartment Saturday.
Police found no signs of a struggle. And friends said she had not been acting suicidal.
Now the Daily Telegraph has printed her posts on social networking websites, which seem to show the young woman had feelings of being lost, confused and unloved and suffered from mood swings. Which seems pretty normal for a 20-year-old girl. But was it serious enough to make her jump out a window?
In one message three months ago she wrote: "I'm so lost. Will I ever find myself?"
An earlier posting, quoted by the New York Daily News, she wrote: "It hurts, as if someone took a part of me, tore it out, mercilessly stomped all over and threw it out."
One cryptic entry in March reads: "My dream is to fly. Oh, my rainbow it is too high."
Other postings revealed anger. "I'm a bitch. I'm a witch. I don't care what you say ... I know why my other relationships didn't work out, 'cause I'm unpredictable. "
Her most recent posting, quoted by the New York Daily News, sounds like a discourse on the theme of love.
"Love is the sun, desire – only flash," she wrote.
"Desire dazzles, and the sun gives life."
"Love does not take away from one in order to give to another."
The 5-foot-8, long-haired beauty had been sending money home to her family in the former Soviet republic of Kazakhstan.
She'd been in ads for DKNY, Vera Wang and Christian Dior, and was hailed as "the next big thing" in Vogue three years ago. To see a gallery of her modeling photos, click HERE.
She had reportedly watched the movie "Ghost" with a former boyfriend the night of her death.

Please pray for Ruslana's soul, everyone.
If everyone pray's a Hail Mary, I'm sure God will have mercy on her.
God bless.

It's always sad when supermodels die.

Those are typical comments for a 20 year old. Still not enough to explain suicide.

How truly sad for this exquisite creature. She could not conquer her demons. I have said a Hail Mary for her. May she find the peace she so deperately craved on this earth. Mental illness is very serious. Unfortunately, this girl gave up instead of seekin help. God Bless her.

It must of been the heavy cocaine usage which is so prevalent in the modeling industry.
But oh my what a beauty

I'm not believing she jumped. The authorities should look more closely. For her I will Novena.

"I'm a bitch. I'm a witch. I don't care what you say" was originally quoted by Yoko Ono. It is interesting that this quote was included in Ruslana's writings.

If this woman were old and ugly, it would not be so shocking and tragic? The shallow nature of our society is revealed when we are invited to mourn and sympathize more when models or beauty queens meet with death or disease or misfortune; as though their lives are somehow more meaningful. Who drives this unhealthy obsession?

over identification with the ego can leave you in hell eckart tolle has it right our whol consumer society is based on the dualistic self her work as a model destroyed her she thought she was her mind and body and lost the transcendental self

Ruslana's soul is fine. She was an innocent child still who was confronted with more than she was capable of integrating in the crass and materialistic capitalist culture she had attempted to adopt.
Pray, rather, for the soul of the corrupting nation whose fashion industry and hedonistic lifestyle so devastated Ruslana.

Lots of lonely people,
too scared to say Help!
I am lost, alone and confused. Call a friend, or a talk line, or a pastor, or priest. People do care and want to share, so reach out and grasp, don't leap out but reach out. Help is out there!

I am really sorry for her. I don't know why she did that. She was a successful and beautiful person inside and out. I really wish the best for her family and I hope she is in a better place now. Go models!

There's nothing cryptic about "My dream is to fly. Oh, my rainbow it is too high." She was just quoting the lyrics to a great house song, Rise Up by Yves Larock

This girl was so insanely gorgeous, I cannot believe this happened. I don't know if I believe it was a suicide....little poems don't explain killing yourself..many girls write poems like that. However, if she were going to kill herself why would she jump off a balcony??? Wouldn't you think she's do it in a painless way like pill popping or something??? I think she just fell.

God Bless you, Ruslana. Obviously a tortured soul but it didn't have to happen. Rest in Peace.

I hope people are paying attention to what happens when you restrict your diet to the point there is no outlet for life's worse moments. Can you name anyone who ate a bowl of ice cream then walked off the balcony. No, you wouldn't the serotonin in the blood elevates the mood.
This woman's life could have been saved by a bowl of ice cream.

THA'S JUST SAD THAT SHE DIDNT THINK ABOUT HER FAMILY... IM SURE THAT SHE WAS ON DRUGS JUST LIKE ALL THE MODELS, SO I HOPE SHE IS BURNING IN HELL. THATS WHAT SHE GETS FOR NOT GOING TO REHAB AND GETTING THE HELP THAT SHE NEEDED...OH WELL NEXT STORY?

Give me a break. Prayers do nothing - they only assuage the living into pretending they are doing something more than being useless. Stop being superstitious, and TALK to your friends or family members if they are depressed. You are not helpless, but you waste everyone's time if you think you will accomplish something by "prayer." Try actually talking to people While they live, instead.
