Paul Newman is reportedly very ill with cancer
According to reports, Paul Newman, 83 and a former chain-smoker, has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer
The acclaimed actor is said to have been diagnosed at New York’s Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he is currently receiving outpatient treatment and is under a leading New York oncologist's care. One of the few to know about Newman's illness is his "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" costar and good pal, Robert Redford.
As well as being an acclaimed actor, Newman is also the founder of Newman's Own, which offers spaghetti sauce and salad dressing. The company donates all its earning to charity, with earnings reaching more than $100 million since its creation.
Newman has made major contributions to those less fortunate, including being on the board of directors for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, an organization that creates camps for terminally ill children.
No confirmation from the hospital or from Newman's camp.
Paul, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

This is too much to bear. My thoughts go to all the wondrous things Paul has accomplished in his lifetime. His charitable nature, his love of car racing, food and politics and certainly his family have made him awe-inspiring. A gorgeous man, talented actor and a trailblazer!

i was born in a familiar chaos.. and one afternoon i was 7 year old , my father didn't use to be at home .. use to fight with my mom.. Very moody.. yes.. And that day my mom said.. You are a grew up girl now.. and you need to have a hair cut.. was 1977.
My beatiful long gingerale hair were gonna cut off..
The photographer who took the las shot of my longlong hair said to me..

Give me a smile..
and i wanted to give my best smile to my dad so he can remember me wherever he was but Suddenly knew that i didn't know how to smile at 7 year old. And when i thought in a better image of my father at that moment , i remembered you doing the play card cheating in the Sting.. I said in my self I'll smile to my father..
I thought of you.. as the daddy i always wanted to have with me in my life .. living in my heart forever.
and you became my father with your next pal.. Sundance
My 2 fathers more from here to forever.. to the eternity.. and beyond..in my heart and soul. One day .. in a better place.. I hope give you this hug I have in my heart always for you. My Favorite dad.
The one who gave me my smile learning to be always brave, kind, and honey no matter what.
Thank you for be as you are. Thanks always to God for you.Dad Paul Newman.

Godspeed Mr. Newman. Your acting has been life-long and wonderful. But your Racing has been life-long and your passion. Your acting touched so many, but your racing has inspired one and all. Be strong, there is a lot more racing we can face together.
Sincerely

This is really sad news.
I will pray for Paul. He has given me hundreds of hours of entertainment on the big screen.
Sad to see another mega star about to leave us. But we can always enjoy his performances at the flick of a button, anytime 24/7.

Many years ago, I wrote Mr. Newman and many other stars asking for an autograph or something similar as part of a incentive program to get kids in my 6th Grade class to read. Most stars sent nothing; some sent an autographed picture; Mr. Newman and his wife sent a large stainless steel chafing dish with their engraved initials intertwined in the center. The kids, the parents, and I were astounded. He didn't know me, my kids, or my school, but he and his wife simply gave far beyond what was expected simply because he was asked. His is a life well-lived. I hold him and his family in my prayers.

I'm so saddened to hear this news.....I think of you often as we share the same birthday - January 26 (a few years different!). My father passed away from this same dreaded disease many years ago and I pray they find a cure. Bless you and your family as you valiantly fight this battle.
