Oprah Winfrey's doing the 'Happy Dance' for Barack Obama
Oprah Winfrey is so thrilled that Barack Obama will be the Democratic candidate for president that she told ET that she's been "doing the happy dance all day."
The longtime Obama fan says, "I'm so proud of Barack and Michelle Obama (his wife and the upcoming guest host of "The View") and what this means for all of us — the new possibilities for our country.
And if he asks — and maybe even if he doesn't — she says she is "ready to go door to door!"
Well, it may come to that! This promises to be a tough presidential race.
We're curious. Will Oprah's Obama support influence your vote?

Oprah's endorsement already won my support months ago. When I saw Oprah campaigning for Obama in Iowa I was struck by what a nice humble sweet man he is. When Oprah said Obama could have been a very rich man but instead chose to work as a community organizer my eyes filled up with tears. This is a good good man. This is someone who needs to be in the white house.

Will Oprah's Obama support influence your vote?
Yes. I have decided not to vote for Obama after seeing her "He is the one" speech. It was stupid.

Oprah already influenced me to support Obama months ago when she campaigned for him in Iowa. When Oprah said that Obama, a the first black president of the Harvard Law Review could have been a very rich man but instead became a community organizer I was moved to tears. He seemed like such a gentle humble man when Oprah introduced him. A really nice person. I was moved to tears. We need his gentle spirit in the White House.

Absolutely NO! In fact she turned me off when she wouldn't allow any other candidates on her show. I thought--What's she afraid of? Sorry Big-O.

Could be a great number to reach out for contributions, volunteers and support.
Mr. Obama could post daily recorded phone messages!

NO! Oprah lost me as a viewer when she injected herself into politics. She is a rich snob & so are BHO & MO!

Yes - I will NOT vote for him. Oprah is as weird as Tom Cruise anymore - her "spiritual phase" is way off base and her ego is out of control. I lost respect for her many, many years ago, and anyone she endorses sends up red flags. Also, I can not vote for someone ashamed of this country and who will not show respect for the USA by refusing to say the pledge of allegiance, and/or our country's nat'l anthem - instead stubbornly standing there w/out their hand over their heart - very sad indeed. I can't believe it, but I will, I now must vote for McCain.

he would do much better without her. one of few, if any, blemishes in his campaign..

Martin Luther King said look beyond someone's skin color. I guess he meant it only for white people.

It's really amazing that so many people were angered by Oprah when she picked Obama for President. I heard pundits and white women claim her endorsement had little or no impact on this race but I beg to differ. Remember it was prior to Iowa and New Hampshere when she endorsed Barack and campaigned for him in those two states and then held a rally in South Carolina with more than 35,000 people in attendance.
Let's give credit when it's due and recognize the tremendous respect Oprah displayed and how she suffered from a backlash of many of her viewers because she endorsed an African American male who was just as qualified or more than 3 members of Americas most powerful political families.
Oprah it was you who who jump-started this long journey of Barack Obamas historical candidacy to be the first person of color nominated to lead a major party in these United States and you should be proud and when your ready to go door to door, I would be honored to join you.
So we can complete this mission of electing this great candidate of color as the next president of this nation!

ppl like sandi, the previous poster are a shame to all democrats. if ur going to vote for someone base ur vote on their policies, not on their endorsements or media stories such as the whole flag pin mess. go ahead vote for mccain who doesn't know anything about the economy and next to nothing about the middle east. what evidence do you have to prove obama is ashamed of his country? he's worn a flag pin many times and always has his hand over his heart during the anthem, so you have no proof of your statements. and why would someone run to become the president of a nation they're ashamed of? you are an idiot. you probably worhsip rush limbaugh.

I'm always amazed at the inaccurate info that people choose to repeat about Obama. He is a proud American that has shown respect for his country every time I've seen him and that's a lot since I'm a supporter and pay close attention to what he says and does. It freaks me out to think that people like you might be the ones responsible for keeping the current sad policies into play just because of your inability to pay attention to what really matters and not the false information planted to distract you from what really matters!

Oh yeah. I always check with TV stars before I vote. I mean, they're so knowledgeable about everything. They know what books I should read, what clothes I should wear...they just know everything!
Ask a stupid question...

I will not vote for Obama. It doesn't matter how much money Oprah wants to throw his way. I find her disgusting.

Man Of Conviction
By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Thursday, June 05, 2008 4:20 PM PT
Campaign '08: Obama's shady real estate partner and benefactor has been found guilty of mail fraud, wire fraud, aiding and abetting bribery, and money-laundering. Obama called a deal he made with him a "boneheaded move." So would be electing Obama president.
Tony Rezko was the classic influence-peddler and the patron saint of the old politics that Barack Obama claims he wants to change. The 16 of 24 counts of which Rezko was convicted Wednesday accused him of corrupting two state boards and using his influence in the administration of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to squeeze cash from firms seeking state business. Yet Obama chose to do business with him.
Sen. Obama has described Rezko as just a "guy in the neighborhood." But like so many of Obama's associations, they run long and deep and indicate a disturbing lack of judgment. Rezko was a player in the shady world of Cook County politics that the Ivy League and Hawaiian prep-school graduate needed to advance in.
Like his association with that bastion of bigotry, Trinity United church, this was another politically expedient move. Obama knew of Rezko's troubles long before the real estate deal and has admitted as much. But Rezko was a mover and shaker in Chicago politics, and Obama wanted to move and shake things. It was the cliche of going along to get along.
Rezko was among Obama's earliest supporters. In 1995, when Obama ran for a seat in the Illinois Senate, Rezko, through two of his companies, gave Obama $2,000. Obama won election in 1996 in a district that coincidentally contained 11 of Rezko's 30 low-income housing projects.
In 2003, when Obama said he'd run for the U.S. Senate, Rezko held a lavish fundraiser at Rezko's Wilmette, Ill., mansion. In 2005, at a time Rezko was under federal investigation of influence peddling in Blagojevich's administration, Sen. Obama and Rezko's wife, Rita, bought adjacent pieces of property from a Chicago doctor.
Rezko helped Obama acquire his $1.65 million home by buying that adjacent lot and then selling the Obamas a strip of the land on which to build a fence. By participating in the joint deal, Rezko helped Obama get the type of big house he recently advised college graduates not to pursue.
In a March 15 interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, Obama said: "During the time that I was purchasing the house, there were some noises about Tony having potential problems."
Obama added: "For me to enter into a business transaction with him was a bad idea. I've said repeatedly it was a boneheaded move, and a mistake that I regret." One of many, it seems.
Some noises? At the time of the house deal, Chicago papers had run no fewer than 100 stories about Rezko's legal troubles. More often than not, the investigations into his activities were Page One news. If you were anyone in Illinois politics, you knew about Tony Rezko.
National Review Online's Stephen Spruiell tells of one of the counts against Rezko. It involved funneling the proceeds of an illegal kickback scheme into Obama's 2004 Senate campaign. Obama has since donated the $10,000 to charity, but not the same $10,000. That money helped put him on the road to the White House.
In February, Rezko told Chicago magazine "Hell, no" when asked if he would testify against others to save his own neck. Now facing long prison time, he may consider changing his stance. Stay tuned. Another shoe from the Obama centipede may be about to drop.

Lets all have a moment to dance.
Maybe you hate Oprah Winfrey, maybe you love her. But even if you hate her, your neighbors watch her. She represents some part of America. She speaks the truth for some of America.
Let's dance! At least for a few days, let's dance!

"I'm so proud of Barack and Michelle Obama and what this means for all of us — the new possibilities for our country." I would like to know who "all of us" is Oprah? Perhaps Mr. Obama would be a good president but this country doesn't have time for a dress rehersal. I supported John Edwards then went with my second choice, Senator Clinton. My third choice based on experience is Mr. McCain.

I will NOT vote for "Obomba" and not just because of Oprah. I don't watch her awful show either. If that picture of 3 self-serving, racist frauds doesn't turn your stomach, nothing will.
Ilk seeks it's own level.

It is time for SPEAK UP against the political correctness, that is ruining our country.
It is so easy to call anyone a racist because they don't support a "man of color". What a crock!
This fraud won't get the votes of thinking people. His statement in Iowa, "When America gets a cold, Black America gets pneumonia". This racist didn't say "poor", and include all races. Guess what racial group will receive the medicine from Oprah, Obama and Michellle? People who vote for him will get what they deserve, but all of us will suffer. Oh, wait, not ALL of us.

Oprah's support certainly got me to take a much closer look at him and I liked what I saw. I've always had great respect for Oprah. Anyone who climbs out of povert y to give hundreds of millions of her own money to charity is a hero in my book.

As an African American woman Oprah's vocal support early on was essential in getting me to open my mind to Obama. At first I, like a most black women, did not trust Obama. He did not have a traditional African American background, and he was just so new. But seeing a strong black woman like Oprah (a woman who I grew up watching and consider a third parent) put her popularity on the line for him, really inspired me, especially since Oprah usually avoids partisan politics.

Obama and Michelle are RICH SNOBS? Who are you to say that? They are accomplished people who earned their money. We should, as Americans, be PROUD of people who can live the American dream -- who wouldn't want this for their own children or family?
What makes you feel like they are rich snobs? McCain's money comes from his wife's beer empire. You Republicans like to talk about hard work and responsibility, but you really just believe in cutting corners and marrying rich. The last I heard, Obama was not the person with a lake house and so many homes that he didn't know how much property he actually owned.
wake up people and stop spouting complete bs.

I can't believe people are as shallow as some of them are coming across in these comments. Saying that someone isn't patriotic because they wouldn't wear something or show some gesture.
Also, Oprah has done more for people overall than most other celebraties, so discounting her because you think she has an ego problem then that show's me that someone like yourself may have some ego problems of your own.
Also, lets not forget that some of the most patriotic presidents that we've had have almost bankrupted our country and sent many young people off to die.
People, lets keep things in perspective. There are larger domestic problem going on here like the economy. The rich against the poor.
We do not need another nor can we afford another four years of the republican nonsense.
This country as well as the state of the globe is in need of some objective attention. Not by someone who likes the idea of economic and social divisions and the concept of I got mine so you are going to have to get yours.
We need a united front and Obama is the best candidate to be the head honcho for the job.
His race makes him visually an international flair and his education and experience makes him an intellectually dignified person for all communities.
Last thing, we have got to get out of that Leave to Beaver way of thinking. Our public eduaction system was founded on that idea as we as the family structure. Our ways of life have completely changed and we need to discover how to deal with the changes if we are to be a better society.
