'Gossip Girl': Does slain actress Sharon Tate's style influence the series?
Roman Polanski's beautiful young wife, actress Sharon Tate, was murdered at their Benedict Canyon home on Aug. 9, 1969, by the followers of Charles Manson. She was 8-1/2 months pregnant at the time.
Sharon was a trend-setter in the '60's and continues to influence today's fashions. Even the fashionistas on "Gossip Girl" owe a nod to the blond beauty for hair, makeup and clothing inspiration. Doesn't Sharon Tate, above, look a lot like "Gossip Girl" newbie Lydia Hearst, left?
And last night's episode also revealed a murder in a main character's past! See LAT Show Tracker Enid's take on last night in "Gossip Girl": Serena's secret is out...and so is Eric." And click here for some East Coast intel! Warning: If you haven't watched last night's show, this will totally ruin the surprise(s).
Now, back to Sharon Tate.
Photos of her clothing, worn by a model who less resembles Sharon Tate, will be exhibited in L.A. this summer. But you can see Sharon's clothes tonight on "Inside Edition," (3:30 p.m. on KCAL/CBS) when the show talks to Debra Tate, who kept some of her sister's clothing in a trunk, presumably in a dusty, dank attic, like in "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" or "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte."
She tells "Inside Edition" on tonight's show that the clothes remind her of a happier time. “I really enjoy going through the clothes," says Tate. "It takes me back to a much happier time when she and I would spend time in her closet picking which outfit she was going to wear to which event."
Debra Tate, who pulls out a pair of ski pants, maternity dresses and formal wear, says she can still smell her sister on the clothes. “They’re precious moments. That is why I don’t open it often. I can still smell her scent.”
OK, creepy. Creepy-sweet. But still creepy.

I feel there was nothing wrong with her clothes. She was a girl of the times. Most everyone wore that type of clothing
during the 60's. I was part of that era and proud of it. So, yes if that is what her sister wants. Many people would like to buy something of the actress.
who was a very beutiful girl, and was just another person dressing for times.
