Katie Holmes shows off her primary colors at the Costume Institute Gala!
I hate to say it, but Katie Holmes stole the evening's fashion thunder from actresses like Blake Lively, Christina Ricci, Thandie Newton, Julia Roberts, Michelle Trachtenberg, who wore relatively safe and unexciting — or just plain strange — couture gowns to the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute's Gala Benefit on Monday night.
But Katie's bright Crayola colors — a red shiny strapless Armani gown and cartoon blue pumps — stood out as a unique and exciting new use of primary colors.
And how much do we love that she wears sky-high blue heels despite the fact that they make her tower over Tom Cruise?
But what do you think? Do you like Katie's colorful couture?

Primary colors??? Since when has "Tangee "orange become a primary color??? Katie's garb is garish and vulgar, and she looks "dead common" in her outfit. The longer than long chain wrapped around her neck isn't attractive, and makes the whole "get up" look even worse. And then there's the shoes. It seems that Katie not only hasn't a clue on how to dress, but-only cares about getting attention-negative.

The dress is tolerable but the shoes are scarey. I'm no fashionista but I don't think that in this lifetime I would have put that colour combo togeather.

First off, any color of a primary color is still a primary color, because it falls in that category. Anyone with fashion sense knows that E30. Secondly, I think she looks fantastic. She pulls it off so elegantly. The longer chain necklace is back in style again.
Stunning Kate, just stunning. :)

Any basic art book will inform one that when two primary colors are mixed, the result is a secondary color. In the picture the carpet is red-the dress is not-it is a secondary color (red + yellow = orange). Although blue is a primary color- the shoes are an interesting hue- whether the shade would fall in the secondary or tertiary group would depend on what colors were mixed to arrive at that color. The longer chain necklace may be back in "fad" again, but that doesn't mean that it goes with everything!! Elegance connotes "dignified richness and grace" as exemplified by Posh's tastefully luxurious ensemble.
Stunting, Kate, just Stunting.
